Douglas Bieman of Kincardine
visited last Friday with his mother,
Agnes Bieman. On Thanksgiving
Sunday, George Inglis and Mrs.
Bieman were supper guests at the
home of John and Evelyn Lepping-
ton and family of Clinton.

passing of Wilma's father, William

Wingham spent Thanksgiving Sun-
day with the Bruce Elliott family of
Arkona.
On Thanksgiving Monday, Ken
and Margaret Hodgson of Nobleton
visited relatives in the area, includ-
ing Olive Bolt, Elaine Winter, Mar-
garet Nickel, Edith Stokes and Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Yuill.
Thanksgiving guests on Satur-
day, Oct. 7, at the home of Freda
Johnston were: Doug, Sue and
Shelley Johnston of Lucan; Brad,
Brenda and Jackie McCann of
Brampton and Rod and Tara John-

Dorothy Leppington and her sis-

Ethel Brown visited for a few
days with Norman and Jean Mul-
loy of Paris.
Dianne Fudger and Gwynne
Brown were two of 10 people who
won a lucky draw at Zellers earlier
this month. They were honored to
attend a wine and cheese party at
which Paul Michael Valley (Ryan
on "Another World") signed auto-
graphs.
Sympathy of the community is
extended to Bruce Grainger in the
sudden passing of his wife Dolores.
Burial occurred in Molesworth Ce-
metery last Tuesday.

synodical board meeting at Knox
Presbyterian Church at Woodstock.
BELGRAVE--A regular meeting of
the Belgrave Community Club was
held on Friday, Oct. 6, in the com-
munity centre with 28 members
present and Bob Grasby, president,
in charge.
The meeting opened with the
singing of "0 Canada", accompa-
nied by Freda Johnston on the pia-
no. The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and adopted.
The following names were added
to the nominating committee report
and adopted unanimously: Garner
Nicholson, vice president; Jack
VanCamp, club representative to
the community centre board; Laura
Johnston and Norma Moore, audi-
tors.
The treasurer's report was given
by Mary Taylor. The following Oc-
tober anniversaries were acknowl-
edged: Albert and Jean Cook, 50
years married; Stanley and Leona
Black, 52 years married; Garner
and Alice Nicholson, 53 years mar-
ried and Annie Cook and Lois An-
derson each with October birth-
days.
It was decided to have a catered
Christimas dinner for the club on
Dec. 8. The next meeting is Nov. 3
at 1:30 p.m. Thirteen members rep-
resenting the club attended the fally
rally of the United Senior Citizens
of Ontario held at the Legion Hall
in Exeter on Oct. 5.
BRUSSELS --Rod Steinman
brought the message at Brussels
Mennonite Fellowship on Thanks-
giving Sunday, Oct. 8. The main
theme was "Facing Down Our
Fears" and Mr. Steinman spoke
more specifically on facing down
fears in a society which is breaking
down and contained the message
"Take Heart -- God Is in Control".
He pointed out that fear shapes
our lives more than we would like
to admit, but the antidote for fear is
love. We need to establish a solid
home front and make the ultimate
life choice for Christ, Mr. Stein-
man, concluded. Only God can dis-
pel our fears completely.
Bev Brown was the worship
leader. Manivan and Phailop Lar -
prom led the congregational sing-
ing. Phailop also provided accom-
paniment for a trio when Sue
Siegers, Destiny and Michelle
Lichty ministered through song.
Tim Procter played the piano for
the offertory.

Hour, a fellowship meal was held
in the gymnasium. After the meal a
special service was held in the
chapel with Thanksgiving and ser-
vanthood being emphasized. The
elders were in charge of this service
and Anne Hemingway and Kathy
Procter led the congregational sing-
ing.
Donations of non-perishable
food items were collected for the
Teen Challenge Food Drive. Let-
ters also were written to accompa-
ny birthday greetings to several
people in the mission field. Letters
and birthday greetings are sent on a
monthly basis to missionaries.
The Church family was busy last
week with the self-help craft sale
which was held last Thursday, Fri-
day and Saturday.
Last Sunday, Mervin Lichty
brought the message which contin-
ued the "Facing Down Our Fears"
theme. He was to address "The
Fear of Living Insignificant Lives".
Town of Wingham
Final Taxes Due
The tax installment for the Town of Wingham is due
Monday, October 31, 1995.
Interest at 11/4 % per month or any part thereof will be
charge as of November 1, 1995.
NOTE: Persons who have acquired properties and have
not received a tax bill should contact the Clerk's Officer
Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve a tax payer from
responsibility for payment of taxes nor from penalty for late
payment.
A post-dated cheque dated October 31, 1995 may be
brought to the Clerk's Office any time prior to the due date.

Fun & Fiddle Festival on Saturday
and Sunday.
