Morris Township chief building
official Paul Josling reported to
council last- Tuesday evening, that
the demolition permit for the for-
mer Belgrave Hotel had been
awarded.
He also noted that contrary to
what he had thought, a demolition
permit was not required from the
Ministry of Transportation
(MTO).
However, Josling noted that a
building and land use permit for
the proposed park on the property
would be required by,the MTO.
The demolition work, done by a
group of Howick Township Men-
nonites, was completed Friday.-
The

brought a couple of complaints to
council.

garbage in the hamlet of Walton
and the other was a concern about
a tree house being built in Bei -
grave.
Josling said that the tree house
complainant was concerned about
someone getting hurt. He noted
that the tree appears to be on
township property.
Councillor Kevin Pletch noted
that if it's the township's tree then
maybe they could get the children
to stop building the tree house.
Deputy reeve Keith Johnston
said that if the tree is on township
property, the township would be
responsible if someone got hurt.
Josling said he would try to talk
to the children, or their parents,
and let them know about the town-
ship's concern.
Regarding the garbage situation •
in the hamlet of Walton, Josling
said the complaint could have
been received on a day when gar-
bage collection was late.
