Nevery of WinglOm passed away
at, Witigham and Distrint Hospital
on friday, June 30, 1995, in his
06th year. He was the beloved hus-
band of the former Julia (Judy)
Wickson.
Mr. Nevery was the dear father
of Cathy and her husband, Greg
Brobks, of Hampton; Janet and her
husband, Julio Biafore, of Missis-
sauga; Karleen Nevery and Bob
Hunter of Oakville and Gordon
Nevery and his wife Claudia of
Mississauga. There also are eight
grandchildren surviving and three
sisters, Jean Schindel, Ruth Wen-
dling and Marian Latchford.
Jack Nevery was predeceased by
his parents, John and Mae Nevery
and his brother James.
There was no funeral home visi-
tation. Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home, 35 Pat-
rick Street West in Wingham, on
Tuesday, July 4, at 2 p.m. with
Rev. J. Rea Grant officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to
the Heart & Stroke Foundation
would be appreciated as expres-
sions of sympathy.
PATTISON--Mrs. Ruby Grace
Winnifred Pattison of 420 Queen
Street, Blyth and formerly of East
Wawanosh Township, passed away
at University Hospital, London, on
Tuesday, June 27, 1995, at the age
of 73.
The former Ruby Casemore, sl..
was predeceased by her husband,
Henry Pattison, in 1984 Left to
mourn their mother's passing is:
David Pattison of Blyth; Jean and
Michael King of . Stratford; Gayle
Pattison of- Listowel; Shirley and
Keith O'Cdnnell of Stratford; Bar-
bara and Barrie Thomson of Hamil-
ton and Margaret and Carl Pritch-
ard of Wingham. There are five
grandchildren and one great-
grandson. Also surviving is one sis-
ter, Irma Casemore.
A homemaker all her life, Ruby
Pattison was a dedicated member
of the Ladies' Auxiliary to the Roy-
al Canadian Legion Branch No.
420, Blyth, giving; freely of herself
when called upon. Mrs. Pattison
was a past president._ of the Legion
auxiliary, as well as a member of
the Blyth United Church.
The complete funeral and com-
mittal service was held at the Task-
er Chapel of the Beattie -Falconer
Funeral Homes, Blyth, on Friday,
June 30, with Rev. Stephen. Hun-
tley' of the Blyth United Church of-
ficiating. Interment in Wingham
Cemetery.

BELGRAV•E--The Seth' annual
Nethery-Leishman Reunion was -
.held on Sunday, June 25, at the
Mullett Central School, Londesbo-
rough, with 75 signing the register.
Guests were present from Cali-
fornix, Hamilton; Forest, fhillia,
Parry Sound, Toronto, Sarnia, Ble-
neim, Kitchener, Hanover, Kincar-
dine, London, Mitchell, Goderich,
Clinton, Wingham, Bluevale,
Blyti, Londesborough, Belgrave
and the surrounding district.
Ella Ives of Blythwas in charge
of the sports, which were enjoyed
by all.
Following the supper hour, the
president, John Nethery of Forest,
conducted the meeting. He an-
nounced the deaths of Alvin Gal-
lagher and Mark Mathers, which
occurred in the past year. A few
moments of silence following in re-
membrance.
The program continued with
Robin McCallum of Toronto play -
Congratulations are extended to
Chris Templeman, who graduated
from Georgian College in Owen
Sound from the law and security
administration program with hon-
ors. Chris is the son of Don and
Brenda Templeman.
Roy and Helen Chambers and
Jessie Adams of Listowel visited
with Alma Hetherington last Satur-
day.
Lloyd and Sadie Faust spent the
weekend at Point Farms, Goderich
and visited with friends in the area.

Mr. and Mrs. Ron Nicholson of
Barrie and Mr. and Mrs. Glyn
Wide, - evor and friend Phil of
Hamilto , as well as Mr. and Mrs.
.John Sumner of Las Crucs, New
Mexico, visited recently with Mr.
and Mrs. career Nicholson.
Happy birthday greetings are ex-
tended to Norma Rintoul of White-
church, whose brithday was June
21. Family members celebrating
the special occasion were: Thelma
Cardiff of Brussels; Anne, Dave
and Jeff Oberholtzer of Waterloo;

a lovely smorgasbord dinner at a
Brussels restaurant and then went
back; to the Campbell home for

A number of members of the
Gorrie Senior Citizens' "Come
Alive Club" were on a mystery bus
tour last Tuesday.
Congratulations go to Denise
.Mino, who graduated from Sheri-
dan College of Applied Arts and
Technoldgy, Oakville, with high
honors and a diploma in office ad-
ministration -medical. Denise is the
daughter of Earl and Dianne Mino.
Leonard and Christine Sander-
son, Mary Sanderson, and Michael
Park were in Bothwell last Sunday
to attend the baptism of Duncan Le-
onard Donald, son of Joanne San-
derson and Rob Annett. A recep-
tion was held at their home
following the service. '
Lauranne Sanderson, Josiani, Lu-
cas and Lloyd Mappleback of Tru-
ro, Nova Scotia, are holidaying
with her parents, Leonard and
Christine Sanderson.

who attended the first reunion in
1945, Ella Ives; guess the answer
Contest; Kim Nethery and Donna
Johnston; candies in a jar, Barbara
Bosman; guessing old photo. con-
test, Mrs. Garniss • and lucky plates,
Bill Nethery and Barbara Bosman.
A gift of appreciation was given
to the secretary -treasurer, Mary Isa-
bel Nethery, for her continuing ser-
vice over the past 40 years.
A treat of watermelon was pro-
vided by John Nethery of Forest
and the reunion closed with the
singing of "Auld Lang Syne".
The 1996 Nethery-Leishman Re-
union will be held on June 23 at the
Hullett Central School. Mr. Neth-
ery continues as president and
Mary Isabel Nethery returns as sec-
retary -treasurer.
Hetherington
family reunion
GORRIE--The Hetherington reun-
ion was hosted by Bob Hethering-
ton and Bill Hetherington last Sun-
day at the home of Alma
Hetherington of Gorrie with 65. at-
tending.
Family members attended from
Alberta, Kingston, Mount Albert,
Teeswater, Hamilton, Brantford,
Collingwood, Brussels, Meaford,
Burlington, Ottawa, Wingham and
the surrounding area.
Mann family
reunion held
'iORRIE--Murray and Rhea
McConnell of RR 3, Palmerston,'
hosted the Mann family reunion on
Sunday with, over 50 attending.
Games were interrupted by the
'rain. Relatives from Clinton, Owen
Sound, Wingham, Kinlough, Trow-
bridge, Fordwich, Ethel, Strathroy
and Gorrie were in attendance.

congregation at Brussels Mennon-
ite Fellowship on Sunday, June 25:
He chose Revelation 1:1-3 as the
scripture reading,
Elwin Garland was worship lead-
er for the service. Phailop and Man-
ivan Larprom ministered. with spe-
cial music. Lucy Hesse and Nancy
Elliot -Greenwood were in charge
of the congregational singing.

WROXE I'LR--Members and
guests of the United Church Wom-
en enjoyed a warm pleasant eve-
ning on the patio of hostess Sandra
Edgar.
A cool, fruity punch was sipped
as the group gathered laden with
goodies for a delicious smorgas-
bord supper. The birds sang and the
campfire crackled as Mrs. Edgar -
welcomed all to begin the business.
Eileen Hamilton read the min-
utes of the May meeting and Joy
Wylie gave the treasurer's report.
Mrs. Hamilton commented on the
entertainment and program at the
Fordwich Nursing Home, along
with the Wroxeter seniors, on June
17.
Mrs. Edgar and Mrs. Hamilton
chose "Stones" as the theme for the
worship. Each person chose an in-
teresting -looking stone off a table
and later told how it related to
them. There were so many shapes,
sizes and uses for stones and verses
from the Bible and stories about
stones proved very interesting.
Games and contests added some
lively entertainment and a sing -
along was enjoyed.
The mystery gift, donated by
• Mrs. Edgar, , was won by Doris
Hays. Several members who cele-
brate birthdays in June were recog-
nized.
The UCW will enjoy a holiday
during July and August and will
meet again on Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. at
the church to begin a new season.
The ladies are asked to bring arti-
cles for the garden produce auction.
The Mizpah Benediction closed
the meeting. Thanks were ex-
pressed to the hostess, Mrs. Edgar
and good wishes to everyone for a
lovely evening.

Mr. Warner will be continuing
studies in Saskatchewan this fall.

sage on Sunday, July 2.
The ladies' fellowship had its fi-
nal gathering before breaking for
the'summer on Tuesday, June 20, at
the Fireside Cafe where .a dinner
meeting was held. Monthly meet-
ings will resume in the. fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Day returned
home recently from a trip to Van-
couver, B.C., where they visited
their son Richard.
Wayne Farrier of Guelph visited
last weekend with his mother,
Agnes Farrier.
Mr. and Mrs. George Ross of
Owen Sound, Cheryl Slack Brock
and Troy of Sarasota, Fla., Brian,
Laura and James Ross of Mitchell,
as Well as David, Kim, Andrew and
Brandon Ross were visitors last
Sunday of Don and Jean Ross.
Attending the birthday celebra-
tion for Norma Rintoul last Sunday
at Brussels. were: Dave and Anir
Oberholtzer of Waterloo; Gordon
and Sharon Campbell and Heather,
Belgrave; Harry and Donna Gutow-
ski and family of Kitchener and
Neil and Helen Rintoul and family.
All ,returned to the home of Gordon
and Sharon Campbell for the after-
noon.
Rob and Mike Smith of St.
Thomas visited for a few days last
week with their grandmother, Mrs.
Pauline Adams.
Amy Falconer of Goderich visit-
ed last week with her grandparents,
Angus and Vera Falconer.
Rain forces
event inside
ATWOOD--Approximately 50 de-
scendants of the late Jessie Sang-
ster and George Brown gathered at
Atwood late last month.
Among those' attending were
from Campbellville, Toronto, Strat-
ford, Owen Sound, Gorrie, Moles-
worth, Ripley, Paris, Guelph and
Kitchener. The downpour of rain
was welcome in the dry spell, but
meant the smorgasbord and games
