Walker scores four Shawn Walker booted four " goals last Wednesday as the Wing - ham Strikers blanked Clinton Commotion 4-0 in Huron County minor soccer atom division play in Clinton. Getting assists on Walker's goals were Billy McGrail, Femi Omole, and Jeff Brost, Sharing the goaltending chores for the Strikers were Adam Skinn, Tom Pettigrew, Curtis Thornton, and Tom Montgomery. The team was strong defensive - or ly, allowing just one shot on goal. In local squirt division play last Wednesday, the Yellow Stingers blanked the Blue Jays 3-0, and the Green Machine shut out the Red Dogs 5-0. Devon Miller scofed two goals for the Stingers and Ryan Shaw adding a single. Jordon Doig and Andrew Glass- ier scored two goals apiece for the Green Machine, with Patrick Main booting a single goal. Becky Rapson, Grey; 3, Audrae Dick- son, Wingham Madill athletes win six medals at OFSAA Six Madill track and field ath- letes travelled to Kingston on the weekend to compete in the OF - SAA championship. The athletes all finished in the top six of their events, and also brought home six medals and a new OFSAA record. Andy Shaw set the new provin- cial mark as he sprinted the ambu- latory 100 metre race in 13.2 sec- onds. The Lisle sisters each won two medals. Mary took a silver in the junior girls shot put with a toss of 11.35 metres, and a bronze in the discus with a throw of 35.50 me- tres. Julie earned a pair of bronze medals, placing third in in 'the competitive senior girls discus with a throw of 39.18 metres, and also placed third in the closely contested shot put with a toss of 11.61 metres. Mary also placed ninth in the, junior girls long jump with a leap • of 4,45 metres. Julie finished 12th in the senior girls 100 -metre hur- dles in a time of 16.22 seconds. . Mike Nolan surprised his fellow competitors, when in the last round of -the midget boys discus, he winged the discus 49.80 metres to move from sixth . place to sec- ond to earn the silver medal, to bring the Madill medal count to six. He was also 10th in the 300 - metre hurdles with a time of 43.30 seconds. Michaela Johnston had a per- sonal best put of9.80 metres to place fifth in th midget girls event. Dave McDonald was sixth in the senior boys discus with a throw of 43.52 metres. With the exception of the Le- gion track meet on June 24; the outdoor season for the high school's track and field team. has concluded. Legion squirts fall to Seaforth The Wingham Legion Squirt boys hosted Seaforth last Thurs- day and had they recorded dropped to two wins and a loss as they fell 8-6. The Wingham squirts battled back from a 8-2 deficit, scoring: four times in their final at bat, but fell short, leaving the bases load- ed. Scoring runs for Wingham were Adam Ryan with a pair, Zack O'Krafka, Derek Marks, Barry Skinn and Tint Barfoot. Wingham only managed a pair of hits, but received 15 walked batters, and left 10 runners on base in five innings. O'Kratka took the loss on the mound, allowing three runs in three innings and struck out five.
