Obituaries
DAWSON--Allan F. Dawson of
101 -10th Street, Hanover, passed
away at the Hanover and District
Hospital on Friday, May26, 1995.
He was born at Niagara,Falls, a
son of the late John L. Dawson and
the former Annie M. Church. Allan
was territory manager with Shur -
Gain Feed at the time of his retire-
ment. He served overseas with the
RCAF, 1942-45, was a member of
the Royal Canadian Legion, Hano-
ver, Hanover Masonic Lodge, was
past patron of the Order of the East-
ern Star Goodwill Chapter 235.
Mr. Dawson also belonged to the
Durham Chapter Royal Arch Ma-
sons, was past First Principal Per-
ceptory No. 40 Knights Templar,
served on three school boards and a
was a former member of the Hano-
ver Curling Club and the Lawn
Bowling Club.
Allan Dawson is survived by his
son, Dr. Donald Dawson and his
wife Joyce of Greensville and
grandchildren Hillary and Tim. He
was predeceased by his wife Chris-
tena (nee Wallace). There are two
sisters surviving, Isabel Inglehart
and Margaret Dawson.
There was no funeral home visi-
tation or service. Cremation has oc-
curred with interment of cremated
remains in Hanover Cemetery. Me-
morial donations to the Alzheimer
Society or the Canadian Cancer So-
ciety would he appreciated as ex-
pressions of sympathy. The Migh-
ton Funeral Home, Hanover,
assisted with funeral arrangements.
FOXTON--William Edmund (Ted)
Foxton of RR 2, Wingham, passed
away on May 24, 1995, at Universi-
ty Hospital, London, in his 64th
year.
He was the beloved husband of
the former Shirley McDougall and
dear father of Susan and Robert
Pipe of Lucan, David and Brenda
Foxton, Wingham and Gary and
Debbie Foxton of Kitchener.
Mr. Foxton also is survived by
his mother-in-law, Lillian McDou-
gall of RR 3, Wingham and his
grandchildren, Jason and Brian
Herd, Matthew Pipe, Shawn, Ken-
neth, Jonathon, Crystal, Gary and
Sarah Foxton.
He was the brother of Kenneth,
Bruce, Robert and Douglas Foxton,
all of Wingham, Bud, Foxton of
London, Diane Cameron and Con-
nie Hickey of Wingham and JoAnn
Rintoul of Kitchener. Mr. Foxton
was predeceased by his parents,
Herbert and Myrtle (Holloway)
Foxton; his son Kenneth, his broth-
er Ronald -and his granddaughter,
Tanya Marie Foxton.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home, Wing -
ham, on Friday, May 26, from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 pin. Funeral services
were held in the funeral home on
Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
John P. Vaudry officiating. Inter-
ment in Wingham Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the chari-
ty of your choice would be appre-
ciated as expressions of sympathy.

McCALLUM--Esther McCallum
passed away on Monday, May 22,
1995, at Braemar Retirement Cen-
tre, Wingham, in her 99th year. The
former Esther Bruce, she was the
beloved wife of the late John F.
McCallum, who1predeceased her in
1973.
She was the dear mother of Jean
and Albert Cook and Jim and Kar-
en McCallum, all of Belgrave and
Mrs. George (Mabel) Smith of
Brussels: Mrs. McCallum also is
survived, by several grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-
great-grandchi ldren .
She was predeceased by her son,
Wendell McCallum (1976), her
daughter, Ferne Smith (1993), four
sisters, two brothers and one grand-
son.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home, Wing -
ham, last Tuesday, May 23, from 2,,
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral servic-
es will be held in the funeral home
on Wednesday, May 24, at 1:30
p.m. with Rev. Mary -Jane Hobden
officiating. Interment in Brandon
Cemetery, Belgrave.

ship spent the past weekend with
her grandmother, Betty Irwin.

hospital in London last Monday.

Wingham and District Hospital on

NESBITT--Eileen Elizabeth Nes-
bitt. of Ripley passed away at Kin-
cardine Hospital on Monday, May
22, 1995, at the age of 91.
Born in.Huron Township on Jan.
29, 1904, she was a daughter of
John Shiells and his wife, the for-
mer Margaret Yemen.
She was predeceased by her hus-
band, James Nesbitt, in 1976 'and
one brother.
Left' to mourn her passing are her
niece, Flora Beaton and her hus-
band George of Wingham; one
nephew, Bob and his wife Kay
Brotchie of Georgetown; a great-
nephew and his wife, Allen and
Marilyn Robb of Wingham and
great -great nieces, Lori and Jenny
Robb, Wingham.
Funeral services were conducted
at the MacKenzie & McCreath Fu-
neral Home, Ripley, on Wednes-
day, May 24, 1995, at 2 p.m. Rev.
V. Wilkie of the Ripley United
Church officiated at the service.
Pallbearers were Bob Courtney,
Bob Campbell, Lester Ferguson
and Dennis Courtney. Interment in
Ripley Cemetery.
MATHERS--Suddenly in Col-
borne Township on Thursday: May
25, 1995. Mark Rae Mathers of
Goderich passed away in his 17th
year.
He was the beloved son of Rose-
mary (Blake) and Rae Mathers and
the dear brother of Crystal and Mi-
chael. Mark will be sadly missed
by his grandparents. Gordon and
Helen Blake of Brussels and Jean
and the late Charles Mathers of
Bluevale. He was the special friend
of Danielle O'Brien.
Mark will be fondly remembered
by many aunts, uncles, cousins and
friends. He was a dedicated mem-
ber of the Goderich Legion Midget
WOAA hockey team, the Goderich
Machinist hardball team, as well as
numerous Goderich District Colle-
giate Institute athletic teams.

al mass was celebrated at St. Pe-
ter's Roman Catholic Church,
Goderich, on Monday, May 29,
with Rev. John Pluta officiating.

of Mabel Wheeler. Those attending

ry Mayberry of Londesborough vis-
ited with her mother, Beth Procter.
They enjoyed a drive to Point Clark
and dined out at Lucknow. Last
Wednesday morning, Mrs. Mayber-
ry visited with her mother again,
Laura Johnston and Ruth John-
ston accompanied Mabel Wheeler
to Elliott Lake over the holiday
weekend to visit Rev. Peter Tucker
and his wife Nancy.

culture and gardening.
Mrs. Alvin Grainger was the

Highlight Flowers at Monkton and
Brickrnan's Botanical Gardens at

WEIR --At Queensway Hospital,
Toronto, Pearl (Bullough) Weir
passed away peacefully on May 8,
1995, after a lengthy illness.
She married Lloyd Weir, forn er-
ly of Wroxeter, at Banff, Alta:, on
July 16, 1949 and took up resi-
dence in Toronto. She was loved by
all who knew her and was active in
Sunday School work.
Mrs. Weir was the dear mother
of Calvin and Elaine Weir and Kar-
en and Roland Piroutz of Toronto
and the loving grandmother of Cal-
vin and Brandon Weir. She also is
survived by sisters Katie Mitrisin,
Sophia Lokun and Mary Emerson
and sister-in-law, Gladys and Allis-
ter Green. Mrs. Weir was prede-
ceased by two sisters.
The funeral service was held at
the Porter and Turner Funeral
Home, Islington, on Thursday, May
11, 1995,.with her former retired
minister officiating.
Pallbearers were four nephews,
Peter Lokun, Charlie Bruinsma,
Ted Crawford and Bradley King.

Girl Guides

BELGRAVE--The Sparks and
Brownies worked on their Garden-
er's Badge last week.
Each girl made up a booklet and
had to know four different trees, six
flowers and vegetables, as well as
three different kinds of garden tools
and their . use. They will'' be tested
this week.
The Sparks made a teddy bear
pen and pin for their hats. ,The
Brownies made an owl and mush-
room pen for hats.
BELGRAVE--On Thursday, May
18, the Girl Guides met with a chal-
lenge to complete. Fourteen girls
painted six picnic tables at the com-
munity ball park and did a mighty
fine job.
On Saturday, May 20, the Girl
Guides met at the nature centre for
a "Bugs, Boots and Bubbles" pro-
gram. They studied wildlife in the
creeks, hiked to habitats, studied
wild flowers and planted Russian
olive branches.
This was followed by hot dogs
roasted over an open fire. The rain
was missed by seconds.
Penpals from the Wingham Girl
Guides joined the group, as well as
three Wingham Scouts.

lissa Jane, who was born May 14 at

Public Meeting
Concerning a Proposed
Zoning By -Law Amendment
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Morris will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 22, 1995
at 8:30 p.m. at the Morris Township Municipal Office located along
County Road #16 to consider a proposed Zoning by-law amendment
under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.
The purpose of the proposed zoning by-law amendment is to revise the
current minimum separation distance requirements between agricultural
and non-agricultural uses to incorporate the new Minimum Separation
Distance formulas recently released by the Ministry of Agriculture,
Food & Rural Affairs. Also included are definitions for several terms
used by the new formulas.
As a general amendment to the Morris Township Zoning By-law this
amendment applies to all lands within the Township of Morris.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or
verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the
proposed zoning by-law.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to this proposed zoning
amendment is available for inspection between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m,
at the Townshipof Morris Municipal Office.
