HERD --In memory of Harold
Herd, who passed away on May 20,
1994.
God knew that he was suffering
That the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed his "weary eyelids"
And whispered "Peace be Thine".
His memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part,
God has him in his keeping
We have him in,our hearts.
-•-Sadly missed by Ron, Mary
Lou,and grandson Rob Herd.

STRATFORD - The Madill Mus-
tangssenior boys soccer team
came up with a strong first half on
Friday in the Huron -Perth senior
high school boys soccer champi-
onship against the Stratford Cen-
tral Rams.
However, the Rams came out in
the second half with a stronger ef-
fort as they three scored times to
claim a 4-1 decision over the Mus-
tangs and a berth in the WOSSA
championship this week in Strath-
roy.
Madill coach Jack Mali said the
Mustangs came up with a good ef-
fort despite playing a team that
had better overall skills. He added
that this year's club was a good
mix of players.
"We' were in -tough in the first
half," he said. "We did the best we
could, with the skill level we
have."
He added that soccer is a game
of momentum and whichever team
has it, is most likely the team to
win.
Mali said that Stratford Central •
got the momentum in the second
half and never lost it.
Amen Singh gave the Rams a 1-
0, lead early in the first half. Jere-
my Creeden evened the score for
the Mustangs as he headed a cor-
ner kick by Chris Patterson past.

Stratford Central scored three
unanswered goals to post a 4-1 de-
cision. Booting the goals for the
Rams were Rob Reinecher, Ryan
I- Flanagan, and Jeremy Thiel with a
S. long shot.
c- Coach Mali said the Mustangs
ran out of steam in the second •
half. The Rams were able to take
- advantage of the tired Mustangs
a and were able to press for most of
- the second half.
With the 1994-95 season over,
e coach Mali is already looking for-
ward to next season.
He said there is a good nucleus
of players from this year's team re-
turning next year. However, the
Mustangs will be losing two of
their defenders and a full back. He
added that this year's goalkeeper
will be back for two more seasons.
