Whiiteehurch passed away on Tues-
day; May 2, 1995, at Winghtam and
District Hospital in. her 87tb year.
The former Gertrude Martin, she
was the beloved wife .of the late
Ezra Scholtz and the late Lorne
Durnin. Surviving is one son, Clay-
. ton Scholtz and his wife Laura of
Goderich.. Mrs. Durnin was the sis-
ter of Mrs. Elroy (Louise) Laidlaw
of RR 1, Lucknow and Mrs. Came-
ron (Agnes) Simmons of Denfield.
Also surviving are three grandchil-
dren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Durnin was predeceased by
her parents, Charles and Catherine
Martin.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home in Wing -
ham on Thursday, May 4, from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral ser-
vice was held at the Whitechurch
United Church on Friday, May 5, at
2 p.m. with Rev. Hank MacNeil of-
ficiating. Interment in Wingham
Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the
Whitechurch United Church or the
Canadian Cancer Society would be
appreciated.
MATHERS--Melville O. Mathers
passed away at Braemar Retirement
Centre, RR 1, Wingham, on Satur-
day, May 6, 1995, in his 85th year.
He was the beloved husband of
the former Janet Woods and is sur-
vived by his son Arnold and his
wife Ila Mathers of Exeter and his
daughter Evelyn and her husband,
Jim Gaunt, of Arva. Mr. Mathers
was the grandfather of Dwayne,
Lorrie and Suzanne Mathers and
Janet Elliott. He will be lovingly re-
membered by six great-
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers
Robert (1915) and Charles (1980).
Visitation was held at the
McBurney' Funeral Home, Wing-
. ham, on Monday, May 8, from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral ser-
vice was held in the funeral home
on Tuesday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m.
with Rev. J. Rea Grant officiating.'
Interment in Wingham Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Bel -
grave United Church or the Alzhei-
mer Society of Huron County
would be appreciated as expres-
sions of sympathy.

passed away peacefully at Chedok
Hospital, Hamilton, on Tuesday
May 2, 1995, in his 85th year.
He will be sadly missed by hi
wife, Margaret (nee Currie) and hi
children, Douglas and Ann Mitch
ell and Doris .and Edward Babiski
Mr. Mitchell was the loving grand-
pa of Barbara MacLellan, Susan
Mitchell, Sharon Newman, Sheila
Smith and great -grandpa of Sarah
and Mark MacLellan and Ryan
Newman.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by one
sister, Edna Mitchell of Wingham.
He was a retired employee of the
Canadian National Institute for the
Blind.
The funeral service was held on
Friday, May 5, at the Markey Der-
mody Funeral Home in Hamilton,
followed by cremation.

ing of the Women's Institute was
held at the horn of Mrs. Alvin
Grainger beginning with a potluck

The members sang the Opening
Ode and repeated the Mary Stewart
Collect. The minutes were read and
adopted and the roll call answered.

fees; as well as a suggestion for
next year's program.
Jean Wilson prepared the motto,
"Who will' pull the wagon if we all
get in and ride?". This was well re-
ceived.

The Howick Junior Women's
Institute held its annual meeting
on April 20 at the Township Of-
fice.
Marg Greig is a member of As-
sociated Country Women of .the
World (ACWW). It is a world-
wide organization of mostly rural
women helping to change the life-
style of women, their families and
villages by education and raising
the standards of living through re-
lief of poverty and sickness.
Elly Emmerton and Gwen Stin-
son are arranging the garage and
bake sale on Friday, May 19, 4-8
p.m., and Saturday, May 20, 8
a.m.-8 p.m. Members are to drop
off priced items at Elly's home.
All proceeds will help to support
on-going community activities and
projects.
Brenda Bunker, Gillian Craw-
ford and Winnie'Winkel will begin
organizing the babysitting course
to start in September. Also, Bren-
da presented Ronna Lee 'Johnson
with a gift in appreciation for her
two years service as our president.

Notice of the Passing of Zoning By -Law
Town of Wingham
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Wingham passed By-law No. 2296 (1995) on the 1st day of May,
1995 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.
AND TAKE NOTICE that any persons or agency may appeal
to the Ontario Municipal Board in respect of the by-laws by filing with
the Clerk of the Town'of Wingham, no later than the 30th day of May,
1995, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the
reasons in support of the objection.
AN EXPLANATION of the purpose and effect of the by-laws;
describing the lands kr which the by-laws apply are provided below and
a Key Map showing the location of the affected'lanlis is attached. The
complete by-laws are available for inspection at the Clerk's Office dur-
ing regular office hours.

PURPOSE & Ells'N'ECT:
By-law 2296 (1995) has the following purpose and effect:
The purpose of the zoning by-law amendment is to change the zoning
on land fronting the extension of Carling Terrace, between James Street
and the-forrrier railway land in he town of Wingham': •As, a't suh, the.
application for rezoning proposes to Change the zoning on Lets 13 to -26,
Block "A and Part Block B, Registered Plan 451, Town of Wingham.
The application proposes to change the zoning from FD (Future De-
velopment) to RI (Residential Low Density). The lots are part of Reg-
istered Plan 451 which was registered in the Registry Office in 1979.
The Town and the local property owners have recently had discussions
about street upgrading and municipal services.
The location of the affected lands is shown on Schedule "A" attached.
The location map identifies the lands within the Town.
This by-law amends Zoning By-law 2197 (1992).
