Employees and management at
the Wescast Industries foundry in
Wingham were celebrating last
Monday evening.
At approximately 7 p.m. on
May 1, during the afternoon shift,
the Wingham foundry reached one
million employee hours without a
lost time accident.
The foundry is proud of the 450
full-time employees and students
who strongly support a safe and
team oriented work place.

to an overall safety awareness

ing on the buddy system, watching
out for each other, and training
new employees to work in a safe
manner.
Over the past few years, Wes -
cast has focused on many new
safety programs and procedures
such as lockout, accident investi-
gation, modified work, confined
space, ergonomics, se

"We also offer an extensive
safety video library and computer
training program," said company

weekly basis to identify depart-
mental concerns, and the joint

The last safety day celebration
