'A' division winners...Taking the 'A' side title
of the YBC bantam division were the Fllntstones. Team mem-
bers were Michelle Ortlieb, Melissa Nesbitt, Caitlin Carson,
Brett Skinn, and Terri Benniger. The 'A' side winners in the
junior -senior division were Little Foot. Team members were
Sherri Voisin, Jeremy Hickey, Trevor Hickey, Ryan Wickens,
and Sandy Guptill.
Mustang soccer
teams split games
The Madill Mustangs senior
boys soccer team split two league
games last week.
The seniors scored a 6-2 deci-
sion over the Central Huron Red -
men of Clinton last Monday, but
were handed a 4-1 setback by the
South 1-luron Panthers on Wednes-
day.
Chris Patterson and Pat
McGlynn booted two goals apiece
for the Mustangs last Monday.
Single markers were added by Jer-
emy Creeden and Randy Beuer-
mann.
Patterson was the lone goal get-
ter for Madill on Wednesday.
Mustang coach Jack Mali said
they were missing three essential
players on Wednesday.
The junior Mustangs also de-
feated the Redmen last Monday
and dropped a decision to the Pan-
thers at home on Wednesday.
The Mustangs play a pair of
contests this week, both at home.
They play today and then again on
Friday afternoon.
The girls soccer team played
three games last week, gaining a
win, loss, and a tie to raise their
league record to 2-2-2.
Lara Fenton was the lone goal
getter for the Mustangs last Mon-
day as they played the Goderich
Vikings to a 1-1 draw in Goderich.
In the return match on Tuesday,
the Vikings scored a 2-0 decision..
The Mustangs evened out their
record on Thursday as they scored
a 3-1 decision over the Seaforth
Golden Bears.
Getting the goals for the Mus-
tangs were Jackie Smith, Teresa
Smith, and Fenton.
The girls were in Exeter yester-
day for a game against South Hu-
ron, and are at home tomorrow.

'A' Division
Jack Arnold and Hank Carter
were first in the single round. 40 -
point game 'A' division of horse-
shoes competition held Thursday at
the Wingham Sportsmen Club. They
had a perfect 5-0 record.
Don Frook and Lynn Hewitt were
second with four wins and +27.
Jim Nelson and Al MacKenzie
were third with two wins and +114.
Lloyd Carter and Eric Hewitt were
fourth with two wins and +104.
Wayne Huber and Rick Bross were
fifth with two wins and +66. Harold -
Carter and Paul McKee' were sixth as
they were winless in five outings.
'B' Division
Glen Casemore and Dan Stacey
were first in the single round 35 -
point game 'B' division with four
wins and +42. Wilf Townes and
Dave Huber were second with four
wins and +24.
Harvey Bolton and Bruce Huber
were third with three wins and +94.
Lome Kuntz and Doug Vander-
woude were fourth with three wins
and +77. Doug Hinsperger and Peter
DeGroot were fifth with three wins
and +71. Don. Carter and Harold
itaize were sixth with three wins
and +57. Jim Bolton and Ralph
Koopman were seventh with one
win and +84.

Timmy Barfoot had the high aver-
age of 119, Jonas Whytock rolled
the high double of 343, and Brian

Zarah Ackerman was the most
improved junior girl with a +20.
Julie Moffat had the high average
with a 150, Nora Voisin rolled the
high triple of 515, and Tamara
Krebs had the high single of 223.
James Visser was the most im-
proved junior boy with a +27. Tre-
vor Hickey had the high average
of 156, Garrett Yorke rolled the
high triple of 593, and Ryan Wick-
ens rolled the high single of 261.
Sherri Voisin was the most im-
proved senior girl with a +5, and
she had the high average of 155.
Jeremy Guptill was the most
improved senior boy with a +5,
and rolled the high single of 233.
Jeremy Hickey had the high aver-
age of 190, and Shawn King rolled
the high triple of 577.
Chrissy Adams and Robbie Hall
were Hi -Low winners in the ban-
tam division and Ryan Wickens
and Sandy Guptill were Hi -Low
winners in the junior -senior divi-
sion.

Whitechurch Shoot
The Whitechurch Institute spon-
sored a dessert 'shoot party last
Monday with 14 tables in play.
The high lady was Marjorie
Coultes and second high was Kay
Rich. Harvey Edgar was the high
man and George Inglis, • second
high. Most shoots on the pink card
was Jean Deans and on the white,
Vera Falconer.
Draw prizes went to 'Gordon
Wall, Lorne Jamieson, Vera
Schmidt and Peter Gilmore.
BELGRAVE EUCHRE
There were nine tables of euchre
in play at the Women's Institute
Ha11 in Belgrave last Wednesday
evening.
Margaret King was the high lady
and Audrey Edgar had the most
lone hands. Ruth Johnston had the
most twos and Helen Martin was
low lady.
John King was the high man and
Lillian Appleby was low man. Gar-
ner Nicholsod - had the most twos
and Jack Taylor was low man.
There is no euchre tonight, May
3. The next Belgrave euchre is May
10 at 8 o'clock. Everyone wel-
come.
Madill athletes claim five gold
Three school records set
at Forest City track meet
The Madill track and field team competed in its
first outdoor meet of the season on Saturday when it
took part in the annual Forest City meet at the
University of Western Ontario.
This competition has become one of the largest
high school outdoors meets in North America, with
over 2,500 athletes competing.
Madill athletes had a promising beginning to this
season, breaking three existing school records,
shattering one meet record, and winning five gold
medals.
The school records were set by Shawn Gedcke in
the senior boys 800 metres with a time of 2:07.3
minutes; by Dave McDonald in the discus when he
broke his brother Ken's record with a throw of 45.37
metres; and Julie Lisle in the 100 -metre hurdles with a
time of 16.7 seconds. She also shattered the existing
meet record in the senior girls discus with a toss of
38.96 metres.
The gold medal performances were achieved by
Adam Schiestel in the midget boys high jump by
clearing 'the bar at 1.77 metres; Mary Lisle won
double gold by winning the junior girls discus and
shot put; and Julie Lisle also won two gold with first
place finishes in the senior girls discus and shot put.

dary School finished fourth in the
senior boys singles event at the
WOSSA championships held last
Wednesday at Roberts School in
London.
McGlynn reached the semi-
finals of the senior boys competi-
tion, before losing out in three
games. He lost the deciding game
15-10.
