was born Aug. 10, 1913, a son of

r wife, Susan Hamilton.
Left to mourn hisapassing is his
wife, the former Irlma Hackett and
f there is one son, Don and his wife
e Linda of RR I , Holyrood. There are
three grandchildren, Krista, Karah
and Jason Wall, all of Culross
Township.
The last surviving member of his
family, Mr. Wall was predeceased
by sisters Eva Hatdenby Mitchell,
Alice Pollock and Ethel Locking.
Visitation was held at the MacK-
enzie & McCreath Funeral Home,
Lucknow on Saturday, April 15,
from 2:30 to 4:30. The funeral ser-
vice was conducted in the chapel
on Sunday, April 16, at 3 p.m. Rev.
L.Hill of the Kinlough Anglican

GORRIE—The Women's Mission-
ary Society of Knox Presbyterian
Church met for dessert at the home
of Mrs. Alvin Mundell for the East-

Mrs. David Neilson opened the
meeting with the call to worship
and the aim and purpose repeated

Come", a Glad Tidings worship
service from the current issue was
used. Readings from the gospel of
Luke describing the 'burial and res-
urrection of Jesus were read by
Mrs. Neilson and Mrs. Paul Cham-
bers. Mrs. Glenn Underwood gave
the comments on the scripture pas-
sages and Easter hymns, "Beneath
the Cross of Jesus" and "Christ the
Lord Is Risen Today" were sung.
The roll call was answered'with
a verse about Easter. It was an-
nounced that the old grist mill in
Gorrie was open to the public on
April 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
An invitation was received to at-
tend the spring rally of the Mait-
land Presbyterial at St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church in Molesworth
on May 1 for dinner at 6 p.m. An
open meeting will follow with Mar-
garet Greig, AEC, as guest speaker.
The theme of the meeting is "Serve
with Joy".
Mrs. Chambers gave as her topic
a monologue by Claudia, the wife
of Pilate, a fictional expression of
what might have been behind Mat-
thew's gospel. which describes
Christ's trial before Pilate an the in-
tervention of Pilate's wife. She also
read "Come to the Easter Party,"

suggesting how to celebrate God's
amazing grace.
At the conclusion of the meeting,
the Knox Knotes practised several
numbers in preparation for the Gor-
rie Variety Concert.

55 years
of marriage
BLUEVALE--About 21 relatives
and friends gathered at the home of
Vera and Stanley Moffatt earlier
this month for a surprise dinner par-
ty to celebrate their 55th wedding
anniversary. A delicious potluck
dinner was enjoyed by all.

Karen Moffatt, Ryan, Kendra and
Devon of Belgrave; Beth Goll,
Ross and Dianne Goll and girls;
Etoile and Harold Johnston; Norma
and Glenn Golley, all of Morris

lumbus Hall near Walkerton recent-
ly.
A surprise evening was held for
Mary Simpson in her new apart-
ment in Wingham last Thursday
evening when her close neighbors
from the second of Kinloss paid a
visit and presented her with a re-
membrance. An evening and social
time was had by all. The group
brought the refreshments, Joyce
Pickard read an address and Jean
Ross presented the gift. Mrs. Simp-
son', who had been completed taken
by surprise; thanked everyone.

Church service was held at Knox
Presbyterian church, Bluevale,
where Rev. Randy Banks of the
Bluevale United Church and Rev.

The United Church choir joined
the Presbyterian choir for this event
and sang the anthem, "I Gave My
Life For Thee" with Isabelle Scott
presiding at the organ.
Easter Sunday service was held
at the Presbyterian Church on April

ing the. service. His message was
"Resurrection Now" and the choir
sang "Open the Gates of the Tem-
ple".
An Easter breakfast was celebrat-
ed at Bluevale United Church at
8:30 a.m. by the Sunday School
staff. This was followed by the reg-
ular Church service and commun-
ion at 10 a.m. withRev. Banks con-
ducting the service.
Special music was provided by
the choir and was the anthem "The
Song of Easter". A trio consisting
of Carol Nicholson, Mary Lou
Johnston and Eileen Sellers sang
"The Healer". Mary Lou and Etoile
Johnston served as organists.
