IDA Atoms claim
league title; end
dream team season
In what was a dream finish to a
great season, the Wingham IDA
Atom Bs were crowned as league
grand champions on Thursday.
The players won their own divi-
sion with a perfect 6-0 record
against teams from Ripley, Tees -
water and Normanby. The IDA
Atoms then went head-to-head
with the other WOAA division
champions, Walkerton and Mount
Forest. - While the games were
close, with two going to overtime,
the IDA Atoms prevailed again,
going 4-0.
Not only did the dream team
win the league and its accompan-
ing hardware, but they also found
time during the playoffs to win the
annual Mildmay tournament. The
team went undefeated in four
games, including an overtime win
in the final.
In all, the players finished off
with a truly impressive 17 straight
wins, against some very fine teams
too.
Congratulations too all in-
volved. The players, parents, spon-
sor, coaches, trainers, and the
Wingham Minor Hockey Associa-
tion. They made it all possible. A
dream finish to a dream team.
