Pettigrew resigns as coach
• When the 1995-96 Western Jun-
ior 'C' Hockey League begins its
tram camp sessions in, August,
the Brussels Bulls will be under
the direction of a new mentor.
The Bulls executive accepted
Scott Pettigrew's resignation at a
meeting held March 23. Pettigrew
coached the team for the past two
years, this year guiding the team
to the league finals. He has been
involved with the Junior 'C club
for the past five year's; four as
head coach.
He noted that he has enjoyed his
five years with the Bulls, but it is
time to give someone else a shot at
coaching the team. The players
and club have worked hard the
past two years to .be competitive,
this year losing out to Mount For-
est Patriots in the. league champi-
onship.
Pettigrew said coaching, even at
the Junior 'C level, is becoming a
year-round job. He said that as
soon as the hockey is over, a
coach is scouting players for ;the
following season.
He added that he will still be
coaching summer hockey - until
the end pf June = in Waterloo. •
Pettigrew said he has enjoyed
working with Geoff Ward, now
the coach of the Kitchener Rang -
With the numberof players. the

team, Pettigrew said it could be a
couple of years before they are
strong.
He said Mike Henry and Char-
lie Smith were good assistants,
and now they will be able to have •
a Larger role in the running of the.
team.
Pettigrew said that he had -no in-
tentions of moving up to coach at
the Junior 'B' level.
Anyone interested in coaching
the 'Bulls during the 1995-9r. sea-
son, they should contact manager
Ken Ball at 881-3765 or president
Gerry Wheeler at 887-6233 by
