Members of Teeswater council
arc looking at several options for
development of a parcel of industri-
al land located behind the Co -Op
gas bar in the village.
Engineer Doug Hubble of Owen
Sound attended the March 13 meet-
ing of council to present three op-
tions for road lay -outs for the six -
acre parcel. They ranged in price
from an estimated $310,000 to
$413.000 and if it goes ahead, the
project will fall under the federal,
provincial and municipal Infra-
structure program.
However, council members ap-
peared somewhat surprised that the
estimates came in as high as they
did. Reeve Bruce Kissner observed
that council would have to charge
$90,000 per serviced lot if it were
to go along with the highest -cost
option. "We can't afford that." he
said. "I think we Nought a 'white el-
ephant' "
All agreed that a decision could
not he reached that night. so decid-
ed to give the matter some more
consideration. However, a decision
will have to be made in the not -too -
distant future if it will go ahead this
yeaf as tenders would 'have to be
prepared.
What will go ahead this year is
the reconstruction of Railway
Street, estimated to cost just under
$60,000 and the looping of water to
the lots. which will be completed
under the Infrastructure program, at
an estimated cost of $28.000.
