This year's guest speaker is Wingham and District Hospital Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Koch. An accomplished speaker in addition to hospital management, Mr. Koch will be focusing on "Pre- scription for a Healthy Communi- The annual session will stake place on March 29 at 7:30 p.m. ip the auditorium at the Town Hall. The economic development com- mittee is hopeful that the new ele- vator in the Town Hall will be op- erable for the event. Other featured reports inctude: the Huron Tourism Association, Recreation Department, Primetime Country, the Mayor's report and the 1995 Mainstreet Improvement Awards. This year's honors will be going to Andy Beninger for the Currie Building, Brian Bain and Kentucky Fried Chicken. These awards are presented to owners who make improvements to the physical appEarance of the main street and their buildings. Looking after the table are: back, Audrae Dickson, Kim Holtenbeck and front, Melanie Carter, Terri Marks and Mary Vaudry. Tory leader Harris. in town March 24 • Ontario Tory leader Mike Harris will be visiting three area ridings, including Bruce, on Friday, March 24. Hams and Bruce PC candidate Barb Fisher will meet with resi- dents of both Huron and Bruce rid- ings at a luncheon at the Wingham Legion, at 11:30 a.m., where Harris will discuss the "Common Sense Revolution," the party's platform for the upcoming provincial elec- tion. The luncheon is open to the public. The cost is $6 per person for lunch. At 1:30 p.m., Harris will proceed with Barb Fisher and other local candidates to CKNX Radio in Wingham, where they will partici- pate in a round table _discussion with local media to discuss local is- sues and concerns. At 3 p.m., Hams and Fisher will meet with residents of the Chesley/ Walkerton/Tara areas at a second public round table meeting at the service planned The date for the final service at Trinity Anglican Church in Bel - grave will take place on May 7. Trinity is amalgamating with St. Paul's Anglican Church in Wing- ' ham. The Rt. Rev. C. Mem- bers of the Lions Club were busy stuffing envelopes and get- ting them ready to mail out. Members of Teeswater council arc looking at several options for development of a parcel of industri- al land located behind the Co -Op gas bar in the village. Engineer Doug Hubble of Owen Sound attended the March 13 meet- ing of council to present three op- tions for road lay -outs for the six - acre parcel. They ranged in price from an estimated $310,000 to $413.000 and if it goes ahead, the project will fall under the federal, provincial and municipal Infra- structure program. However, council members ap- peared somewhat surprised that the estimates came in as high as they did. Reeve Bruce Kissner observed that council would have to charge $90,000 per serviced lot if it were to go along with the highest -cost option. "We can't afford that." he said. "I think we Nought a 'white el- ephant' " All agreed that a decision could not he reached that night. so decid- ed to give the matter some more consideration. However, a decision will have to be made in the not -too - distant future if it will go ahead this yeaf as tenders would 'have to be prepared.
