The awards which include 21 different steps were presented dur- ing the club's 43rd annual skating carnival held at the Lockridge Me- morial, Arena. Andrea McBride received her gold level dance award from her pro Fran McGregor and Shari Mundell received her award from pro Michelle Blake. Three other awards were also presented during the carnival. The Marguerite Burrell Trophy for the the most improved skater in or above the junior bronze level 'was presented to Jenni Kerr by carni- val chairperson Donna Palmer. The Jim Ward Trophy for the most improved junior skater with a pleasing personality went to Har- mony Spivey and Tami Kerr, and was presented by club vice- president Bev McBride. The Kinsmen Trophy for the most improved skater at the nov- ice level was presented to Nicole Stewart by Kinsmen Club presi- dent Allen McPhee. Presentations were also made to the club's amateur coaches. For two 'years of coaching, WFSC sweatshirts were awarded -to Mela- nie Carter and Kimberly Schedler. Receiving gift certificates from the Lyceum Theatre were Janelle Anderson, Amy Bushell, Jennifer Bushell, Sheena Baker, Joanna Evers, Shannon Edgar, Tanya Good, Jacklyn Thompson, Denise Knox, Jenni Kerr, Tami Kerr, Elyse LaChance, Tammy Lo' e, Cheryl McBride, C'iauttney Schenk, Dana Shaw,,and`I armony Spivey. Pam Tiffinwas presented with a gift of appreciation. for volunteer- ing her ,time to assist with the jun- ior skaters., Carnival The Wingham Figure Skating Club presented their annual carnival last weekend at the Lock - ridge Memorial Arena. Skaters of all ages per- formed routines to music with a "colorful" theme; including Kermit the Frog, 'centre left; Pink Panther, top left, Elvis, top right, James Bond's Goldfinger, centre right, and some good, down home country, bottom. .0004. In five previous meetings, in - chiding four in the league finals, the Barons have got past the Bulls# The Bulls needed overtime Sun- day evening% score a 6-5 deci- sion over the Barons to win their series three games to one, and ads vance to the league championship final against the Mount Forest?a- triots. After building up a 5-0 lead Sunday, the Bulls had to go to overtime to gain the victory. Goal - tender Ryan Fisk turned aside 29 shots Friday evening as the Bulls scored a 6-0 decision to take a two games to one lead. Goals by Kevin Bali, Tim Beyer and Nate Bender gave the Bulls a 34 lead after the first period, Sun- day. Ryan. Four minutes into the 10 -minute sudden -victory overtime session, a pane of glass at the Brussels - Morris -Grey Community Centre came out and gave the teams an added rest.
