The Vikings captured the

decision over the Mustangs to ad-
vance to the WOSSA champion-
ships set for Tillsonburg, March 3-
4. Three teams -will represents Hu-

ment. The Vikings will play the
top team in Perth County to deter-
mine ranking, while the Mustangs
are in Stratford today to play the
Central' Rams to determine the
third team from Huron -Perth.
The Mustangs and Vikings were
deadlocked at 24-24 at halftime,
and Madill was even up by six to
eight points in the second half, but
coach Chris Coulthard said they
were unable to maintain the lead.
"We were 11 for 23 from the
foul line," said Coulthard. "That
was the difference in the game."

squad travelled •to Clinton last
Tuesday to conclude the regular
season of the Huron Perth High
School Hockey League.

handed a 4-0•setback by the Cen-
tral Huron Redmen, it wasn't until
Friday afternoon that Madill knew
if they were in the playoffs.
Central Huron had one game re-
maining in the regular season - a
Friday afternoon contest against
Central Huron. A win or tie by the
Redmen would put the Mustangs
in the playoffs, while a St. Marys
victory would eliminate Madill
from post season competition. A
win by Central Huron would give
them first place in the standings,
'land a first round playoff series
against the Mustangs.
Thc Mustangs trailed 1-0 after
the first period and were down 3-0
after two periods of play. Scoring
for the Redman were Ray Bier -
ling, Brian Watson and Mark
Cooper with the final two.
