The Thing, Tra La by John Gou-
nod Campbell. The Madill play
will be performed Thursday,
March 30.
Micah Hussey plays Christ,
Manny Hussey is Judas, Kelly Al-
exander'is Mary and Mike Cere is
Caiaphas. Even though these four
are the main performers, Alexan-'
der said there ate students in sub-
ordinating roles who are important
to the performance.
The Performance Showcase is
set for -May 3 to 5 on the school's
main stage.
"This 4'g:ding to be a funf•eve-
ning," said Alexander.
Along with some stand-up com-
edy and some dance, excerpts will
also be presented from Cats, Hair,
Grease and Jesus Chris Superstar.
Alexander said Lisa Alexander
will portray Sandy in Grease and
Chris Alexander will portray Dan-
ny, roles portrayed by Olivia New-

"The production comes com-

Royal

couple years, some 160 Japanese
builders have toured the local plant
and Royal Homes has quoted on
over 100 houses:
"With the drop in the Canadian
dollar, it has helped us be competi-
tive. For the last two months our
export sales have exceeded our do-,
mestic Canadian sales."
In 1994, Royal Homes did over
$-1 million in business with Japan,
and that was all they expected.
However, with the need for recon-
struction, Kuyvenhoven is optimis-
tic 1995 sales will prosper.
"We don't expect to see any con-
struction going on to Kobe for the
first half of 1995. But by the last
half, and then on into '96 and '97,
there is a lot of work to be done
and whether we're shipping direct-
ly into Kobe or other areas, there
will be opportunities- for us
throughout Japan."
Japan, as a housing market, 'has
over 1 million starts per year. Cana-
da has slightly over 100,000 annu-
ally."It's a humongous market, the
borders are wide open, the dollar is
set right, so we see some real good
opportunities for Royal Homes in
Japan."
Pricing has been accepted for 12
Royal Homes in the Sendai devel-
opment, northwest of Tokyo: busi-
ness worth over $500,000 to Royal
Homes: According to Kuyvenhov-
en that builder has plans for over
100 homes this year, and phase in
over the next four years to entirely
Canadian kit homes. The Sendai pi-
lot project has been successful
enough to prompt expansion of a
second subdivision.
Royal Homes won't be getting
the contract for all -the homes in
that project, as the plan calls for di-
vision atkong all Canadian prefabri-
cated homes manufacturers.
The Sendai project can also
serve as a Japanese -based show
room. Builders who are involved in
• the rebuilding of Kobe will be able
to' see first hand the Canadian kit
homes.
The plant currently completes
300 homes per year, but is
equipped to handle over 700. Kuy-
venhoven is hopeful the rebuilding
of Kobe will translate into local
jobs.

memorable Valentine...

entine's Day gift was her engage-
ment ring, presented by her now-'

DOUG AVERY
Afternoon disc jockey over
CKNX-FM Radio, Doug Avery
Well remembers the Valentine's
Day of 1972.
He was. attending Northern Sec-
ondary School in Toronto and was
involved with his first serious girl-
friend.
As Valentine's Day drew near,
Avery and his girlfriend agreed that
since they both were struggling stu-
dents without much money that
they would not make a big deal
over the holiday. Fine, she said and
he went out and bought her a box
of candy and a card.
All that day, he recalls, stashed
around the school were little tokens
of his loved one's esteem -- choco-
lates, balloons,' undershorts with
hearts on them, even a watch. It
was so emharassing, he said and he
would cringe everytime one of her
friends presented him with some-
thing new.
Well, as high school relation-
ships go, Avery and his girlfriend
went their separate ways about six
months later. But when they met af-
ter that, they laughed about that
Valentine's Day, one he never will
forget.

'However, several years ago Deb-

watch• as symbolic of where his
most important time is spent: at
home with his family. That is what
he likes about Valentine's Day.

Get those bowling shoes out of
the closet. Dust off those custom-
• made bowling balls.
A major fund-raiser for the
North Huron Big Brothers Associ-
ation will be taking place in about
six weeks in Wingham.
So, now would be a good time
to get out and practice, practice
throwing the ball down the lanes
— and knocking down the pins,
by using just one or two balls.
The annual. Big Brothers Bowl
For Millions will be held Satur-
day, March 25 at the Wingham
Bowling Lanes, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Organize a team at work and
