Horseshoes play last Thuraday eve-
ning. They had four wins and were
+45.
Al MacKenzie and Bob Gavreluck

Novice As split a pair of weekend
games.
The Novices hosted Goderich
Saturday, and although the home
club playe dan excellent game,
they were unable to capitalize on
several good scoring opportuni-
ties, which resulted in a 5-4 deci-
sion for Goderich.
Joel Riley potted a hattrick for

picking up a pair of assists.

28, a member of the Norwegian na-
tional hockey squad, will be taking
part in an eight-day, •seven -game
tournament played in three coun-
tries early next month, reports his.

Wingham Hawks •• went up
against Ripley, for the second time
this season on Saturday, and for
the second time were defeated. ,
Ripley took the first game 4-0,
but won Saturday's game 1-0.
Wingham was able to hold Ripley
to one goal, in the first period.
Wingham's players range in age
from 11 to 13 years with the Ri-,
pley players in their 20s; Ripley's
frustration at being unable to score
,more than once, showed in the
third period when play became
quite rough.
Wingham was able to maintain
a solid defence and continue to ap-
ply pressure on the Ripley goalie.
Cindy Frieburger was in goal
for Wingham.
Playing at home on Friday, the
Hawks scored a 7-0 decision over
Goderich.
Randi Pilger paced the victory
with a three -goal effort. Courtney
Zonn had two goals and three as-
sists with Tracey Palinski getting
one goal and two assists. Jill Van
Dam contributed one goal and an
assist to the win.
Ashley Campbell picked up
three assists with Tammy Walker
earning a pair of helpers. Single
assists were received by Heidi
Meier, Sheri Robinson, and Betha-
ny Lindsay.
Freiburger posted the shut out
in the Wingham goal.
The Hawks travel to London on
Thursday and then play Honey -
wood at the Lockridge Memorial
Arena on Friday.
Novice Bs shut out Ripley
Brittany Campbell scored a pair
of goals last Monday evening as
the Wingham Wescast Industries
Novice Bs shut out Ripley 6-0 in
WOAA local league play.
Jason Thompson had a goal and
two assists with John King and
Adam MacDonald getting one
goal and one assist each. Evan
Zinn netted a single goal with
Matt Rozendal earning a pair of
assists. Single helpers went to An-
thony Roberts and Josh Hicks.
Nick Henderson posted the shut
out.

In the final minute of play, and
with goaltender pulled in favor of
an extra attacker, Billy McGrail
rang a shot off the Goderich post
as Wingham swarmed around the
visitors net.
On Sunday, Wingham was at
home to Bayfield for an exhibition
game. The Novice As skated to an
8-1 victory.

a 5-1 fust period lead last Monday
at the Teeswater-Culross Commu-
nity Centre, as they went on to
score a 13-2 victory over Teeswa-
ter.
Lucknow added four unan-
swered markers in.the second peri-
od and outscored Teeswater 4-1 in
the third period to reach the final
score.
Marc. Stanley paced the Luck -
now attack with three goals and
three assists.
Nick Mann collected three goals
and two assists while Chris Wain-
wright contributed two goals and
three assists to the win.
Jordan Hamilton and Mark
Lyons contributed one goal and
three assists apiece while Conor
McDonagh and' Jeff Andrew net-
ted single markers each.

last week.
Playing at home on Sunday, the
Pee Wee Bs were handed a 3-1
setback by Lucknow.
Kelly Holden was the lone goal
getter for Wingham, with assists
going to Andrew Lang and Jim
McCracken.
Scoring for Lucknow were
Andy Evans, Andam Chilton and
Jason Lewis. John Vandiephan-
beek earned a pair of assists for
Lucknow.
