Those present were Dbug and Marsha Hart, Ben and Jcaia va Powartart lute; DaHie and Lisa Hart, Ashley and Krysta of Oshawa; Stewart and Andrea Campbell of Belleville; Lyle and White gift service held at Gore United Church GORRIE--Corrie United Church was beautifully decorated for the White Gift Service. Rev. Jeff Hawkins opened the worship and the Christmas Carol "Joy to the World" was sung. Michael --Noble lit the Advent can- dle Mrs. Robin Boiander, superinten- dent, and the Sunday School chil- dren presented "Christmas Through the Centuries" with narra- tions by Dale Schefter, Michael Gregg and Lara Fenton.. The Christmas Legend, "Win- dow of Charvel" was performed in pantomime by the Sunday School children while Peggy Price and Wendy Clarke gave the narrations The Legend of the White Gift was presented with Adam Schefter as father, Rachel Jacques as mother, Beth Ann ' Lee and Jennifer Fenton, the children. Shirley Hart, Bob and Pats Brad- shaw and Kelly, all of Wroxeter Santa arrived during the afternoon nd was enjoyed by young and old. The choir and youth group of the Wroxeter United Church, led by Gordon Kast'er, held a sing -song of Christmas carols by the Chrinas trees on main street last Monday evening, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The singers were joined by several resi- dents and even those who stopped by in their cars. Mr Kaster and his crew deserve a lot of credit for this gesture, which is much appreciated. Mas. Allan Griffith visited with Mr. and Mrs.. UCW officers ins at communion service GORRIE—The sacrament of com- munion was observed in the Gothe United Church with RevJeff Hawkins officiating. Stacey Currie lit the advent candle for the service. Several white poinsettias adorned the church, donated in memory of Martin Scott by his daughter- Sunday a Suunnd y School attendance awards were presented by Mrs. Robin Bolander. Musical offerings included "Star in the East" by the. choir and „Angels from the Realms. of Glory" by the congregation. The Ferguson -Burchill family Christmas was held December 17 at the Wroxeter Town Hall with approximately 40 attending. C stmas at UCW metet GORRIE— Mrs: Marion Schefter was convener for the Christmas meeting of the Gorrie United Church Women held Thursday, Dec. 14 in the Sunday School room. Mrs. Eileen Johnston and Mrs. Shirley Doig led the devotions with the theme "Let There Be Peace on Earth" with over 25 attending. Lighted coal oil lamps and Christmas decorations enhanced a setting complete with rocking chair and Mrs. Schefter dressed in black bonnet and long black and white skirt, a typical grandmother. It took everyone back to the past as she read "An Old -Fashioned Christ- mas". Lorne and Reita Mann sang "Let There Be Peace and Let It Begin in Me". , Carols were sung to accompani- ment of Lorne's guitar. A dessert lunch was served by thecommittee.
