The board df governors at Wing -
ham and Matelot Hospital has
approved a 5156 scullion expansion
project, including new operating
and recovery rooms and an inten-

Tax bills in the Town of Wingham
will increase between 7,4 and 8.8
per cent this year as ratepayers
have been hit by higher budgets
from all four agencies that use the
municipal tax bill to collect rev-
enue. At its regular May meeting,
town council approved its 1989
operating budget of 52,092,500.
Ron Beecroft, chairman of the
Wingham Optimist Fishing Derby,
presented the junior fisherman
award to 13 -year-old Daryl Marks
of Belgrave. The young angler was
a guest of the Optimist Club at its
May meeting.

WORK ND THE1SSUANCE OPDEBENTURES AS SET OUT
BELOW AND FOR APPROVAL OF THE ENACTMENTAOF A
PROPOSED' BYLAW IMPOSING A SEWER. RATE •
TAKE NOTICE THAT:.
1. The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Wingham intends to apply to the Ontario Municipal
Board for approvalof:
(a) the construction of Sewage Works (or Water Works) as described in Schedule "A" annexed
hereto at an estimated cost' of $3,103,465. After allowing for a Provincial Government grant of
$2,134,632 and an amount currently held on hand ina reserve fund established for this purpose,
the balance of.:$700,000 shall be raised by the sale of debentures payable over a period not
exceeding 10 years. The Corporation intends to charge the whole of the cost of the works as a
sewer rate for a period not exceeding 10 years upon the owners or occupants of lands'who will or
may derive a benefit therefrom; and
(b) the following rates will be established to cover the costs of the annual debenture payment
estimated at $124,000 and the estimated cost of operations of the sewage lagoon estimated at
$98,000.
