Good turnout for
Sportsmen's tourney.
A double horseshoe tournament
was held earlier this month at the
Wingham Sportsmen's Club.
In top spot in the 9 a.m. competi-
tion was Keith Lovell of Kippen,
four wins. Fred Wickens of Kitchen-
er was second, three wins and a
plus of 26, while Ivan Gardner of
Wmgham was third, two wins and
a plus of 33.
Lorne Hamilton of Wmgham was
fourth at one win and a plus of 47
and Dave Ablett, also of Wingham,
was fifth at no wins and a plus of
73.
Double -round games of 30 points
were played at 1 p.m. Topping the
'A' side were Ed Neeb of Kitchener
and Alex Boa of Goderich, six wins
and a plus of 29. Harold Carter of
Goderich and Grant Wall, Cobourg,
were second, six wins and a plus of
26, while Roger Christie of llderton
and Harold Pridham, Staffa, were
third at five wins -and a plus of 45.
Jack .Arnold of Mildniay and Syd
Lawson, Goderich, were fourth at
two wins and a plus of 111, while
Lloyd Neeb of Kitchener and Jack
Ward of Monkton were fifth at one
win and a plus of 122.
On the '13' side, Jhn McGrath of
IGtchener and Arden Edmonson of
Arthur topped the scoring at seven
wins and a plus of 13. Lorne Kuntz
of Chepstow and Lorne Hamilton,
, were second at six wins
and a plus of 55, while Tim O'Don-
nell of Arthur and Eugene Kuntz of
Walkerton were third at four wins
and a plus of 80.
Lavern Hoegy of Dublin and Bob
Gavreluk of Wmgham were fourth
at two wins and a plus of 125, while
Jack Britnell of Staffa and Lori
Gavreluk, Wingham, were fifth at
one win and a plus of 123.
The next tournament is this Sat-
urday, Dec. 23, with play starting at
9 am. and 1 p.m.
Brussels Bulls win
three in a row recently
went to Jamie Gibbings, Steve Fritz,
Scott Johnston, Scott Bremner and
Marty Rutledge. Rutledge and J. C.
Hewitt also chipped in with three
assists each. The Bulls were pulling
away slowly from a 3-3 tie with two
goals at the end of the second peri-
od. In the third, they hit their stride,
knocking in six more goals before
the end of the game.
Murray Foxton stopped 20 shots
ongoal to claim the win for the

games in a row last week, two of
them shut -outs.
The Bulls trampled over the
Mount Forest Patriots with a 13-0
victory on home ice Wednesday,
Dec. 6, with goalie Tod Rice making
his Junior C debut a memorable
one..

Saturday nit Jeff Roy returned

the Goderich Sailors 8-0. Venden-
dool chalked up the first goal, with
a goal from Chris Johnson, two
from Hewitt and one by Flett giv-
ing Brussels a 5-0 lead after the first
period. Hewitt chalked up one
more in the second to complete a
hat -trick, with Vandendool and ,
Fritz each picking up powerplay
goals in the third. This is Brussels'
first win against the Sailor this sea-
son. Roy stopphd 22 shots on goal `
from his former Goderich team-
mates for the shut -out.
Sunday afternoon the Bulls were
on the ice once more, this time
rolling over the Grand Valley Har-
vesters in an 11-3 decision. Corey
McKee led the scoring with four
goals, and Steve Vandendool
