Last week the Mustangs were involved. in two home games and managed to push their overall season record to four wins and no losses with, victories in both contests. Last Tuesday Madill romped over Seaforth 10-1 and last Friday they dumped South Huron Pan- thers of Exeter 6-2. Jaret Henhoeffer led the Mus-. tangs offensively with a pair of goals and three assists, but it was irety much a team attack put fur - ward by Madill.. Paid Helm picked up the win in goal for Madill. • The Mustangs found themselves hosts again last Friday; thiS time to the Panthers of Exeter. The first half of the contest was very evenly played. hi fact, due to a few missed nets by Madill shooters, the first period ended with the teams dead- locked at zena. Madill scored twice in the second frame to take a 2-0 lead, but this game was far from over. The Pan- thers came out in the third with their claws barred and quickly scored to cut Madill's lead in half. Murray restored Madill's two - goal advantage fast seven seconds later and that quick retaliation, cou- pled with another Madill marker midway through the third, seemed to salt away the victory for the Mustangs. 4.4‘' • !"3. A late goal by Stevenson. on a beautiful shot off a face-off in the Exete'r zone beat the Panther netminder just under the crossbar to put the contest out of reach, though the Panthers never quit. With 1:40 left to play, Madill was assessed two minor penalties and the Exeter coach pulled his, goal tender to gain a 6-3 manpower • advantage. Superb Mustang penal- ty killing stymied the Panther attack and Peter Strong ended the game with an empty -net goal, his first of the year.
