Blyth's 1989 play development pro -
"The thrust of our new play
development program is two-foid,"
says Artistic Director Katherine
Kaseee. "The Blyth Centre for the
Arts provides playwrights with
access to actors and directors; and
provides them with a sanctuary —
a haven in which ta. write. Fre-
quently given the term workshop,
these sessions take a number of
forms: actors, directors and play-
wright at a table reading and ana-
lyzing a text; actors up on their feet
— text in hand helping the director
and writer to visualieg the piece; or
simply a director and writer in a
room together talking through the
text

Semple McPherson — the famous
Canadian evangelist. "Sister
Aimee" by Butt received its pre-
miere at Woodstock L le Theatre
last fall.

New chairman
named to board
Joan Van den Broeck, Huron
County Board of Education trustee
for Colborne and Coderich Town-
ships. has been named chairman of
the hoard. ,
Mrs. Van den Broeck was the
unanimous choice of the board and
uncontested in her bid for the chair-
man's position. She replaces John
Jewitt, trustee for yth and Hellen
Township. She has been a member
of the, board since 1981 and has
served on the education committee,
as well as vice chairman.
Bea Dawson, trustee for Zurich
anchflay and Usbome Townships,
defeated Tony McQuail for the vice
chairman's posftion.
