Kleist leads Peewees to win over Goderich Centre Jason Kleist racked up four points — including a hat trick — as the Wingham Great China House PeeWees downed Goderich 6-2 last weekend. Steve Anger got the first one, assisted by Kleist. John MacDonald tied it for Goderich, but Kleist restored the two -goal lead Iess 'than one minute later on a pretty passing play, with assists for Allger'and Matt Adams. Kleist scored the only two goals of the second period, one on a solid effort, the other with an assist going to Eric Deyell — to send the Great China House club into the dressing room after two periods with a 4-1 lead. The three straight goals also gave Kleist the "pure" hat -trick on the game. Goderich hit the scoreboard for the final time about four minutes into the final period — Steve Bogie from Elliot - to pull within two goals. Then it was Chris Patterson's turn to take over the scoring for the Great China House squad, notching a pair, one unassisted and the other on a helper from Anger and that's how the game ended, 6-2 for Wing - ham. Kleist had three goals and an assist for a four -point game. Anger had a goal and a couple of assists for three on the day. Patterson got the other two goals for the winners. The Great China House Peewees travelled to Blyth on Monday night for the first meeting of these two teams this season. At this writing, they're still waiting for scheduling in the Teeswater tournament this weekend. • �. ��„.��000 ..... MIXED Nancy Wettlaufer had the high single of 267 for the ladies and the high triple of 715 was rolled by Lorna McArthur. Heinz Daub took top honors for the men with the 263 high single and the high triple of 715. Other good games were rolled by Darlene Fear 205; Millie Nixon 248; Donna Anderson 208; Pete King 261 and Jeff Longmire 213. SENIOR MEN High games last week were rolled by Ken Saxton Sr. 200; Alex Robertson 196; Harry Garniss 182 and Jim Coultes 180. COMMERCIAL LEAGUE Gale's Gummi Bears lead the league with 52 points, followed by Betty's Bugs Bunnies, 48, Linda's Looney Tunes, 43, Elva's Ewoks, 42, Marg's Muppet Babies, 36 and Barb's Care Bears, 31. Adrienne Brophy rolled the ladies' high single of 248 and the high triple of 674. Bob P had the high single of 300 for the men and the high triple of 676. Other good games were rolled by, Mt Terry Pautler 263; Rod Hickey 261; Kevin Hickey 253; Betty Stan- ley 237 and Linda Hickey and Marg Hickey 209. WEDNESDAY NIGHT LADIES The Wednesday Nighters have a three-way tie for first place between Gam's Six Pack, B d[ 13s and Gail's Grandmas with five points apiece. Barb's Juniors, Carol's Blackbirds and Joyce's Jollys follow with two Bev. BELGRAVE LADIES Laura Johnston was high roller with 223 on Wednesday as Belgrave Ladies took to the alley. Jean Neth- ery scored a 188. Doris Michie came across with 175 and 159, followed by Donna Shaw with 162. BLUEVALE MIXED Winnie Boyd picked up the Ladies' High Single with 276 and the Ladies' High Triple with 696. Men's High Single went to Don Fitzgerald with 256, and the High Triple was rolled by Doug Finley with a 586. Games over 200 were tallied by Reta Ross with 239 and 203; Kevin Hickey with 775; Audrey Johnston, 221; Mel Craig, 215; and Frances Shaw, 211. London rebounded with three of its own before Danny McPherson notched Wingham's second goal. Shaw picked upthe assist. London regained its two -goal edge and held it until late in the third when Leibold picked up a Bearing pass front Joel Pegg and rifled in a short-handed goal. Cree- den also was credited with an assist on the play. The goal gave Wingham a little extra spark and they proceeded to tie the game with one minute left in regulation time as Baier tucked in a pass from Sangster. Then, during the first shift in sudden -death overtime, McPherson fed Leibold a perfect pass and he made no mistake giving Wingham the victory Mike Colley played a ,steady game in goal for Wingham. Jamie MacKay, from the Wing - ham China House PeeWees, played a solid game on defence, filling in for the injured Jeremy Brown. Harriston 4, Wingham 2 Despite being reminded that Harriston would be smarting after two earlier losses to Wingham, the Legion lads allowed Harriston to carry the play during the first peri- od and build a 3-0 lead. Creeden got one back in,,the second from McPherson and Josh Johnston. In the third, Creeden once again came through with a clutch goal. Evans picked up the assist. Howev- er, with time running out, Harriston sealed the win with its fourth goal. Earlier in the week, Arthur out - hustled and out -muscled Wingham to earn a 6-3 victory in exhibition play,.Arth�,u�,y }J,qed 2-1;aftte :.the first I riQ4F. 72td set uP,.; grr r the Wingham goal. They built a 4-2 lead after two periods. Wingham's lone second period marker carne off Leibold's stick with Shawn Gedcke register- ing the assist. Arthur made it 5-2 before Wing - ham recorded its third goal when Gedcke lit up the scoreboard from Evans and Sangster. Arthur wrapped up the scoring with 20 seconds remaining in the game. In league play, Seaforth knocked off Wingham for the third time this season, this time by a score of 5-2 Mike Devereaux notched the first two goals for Seaforth before Sang- ster replied for Wingham. Leibold was credited with the assist. Seaforth pulled ahead 4-1 and then Neil Mowbray's shot from the point dented the twine to make it 4-2. Seaforth's Mike Weber ripped in his second goal of the game in the third to sew up the victory. Wingham plays Mitchell tonight, Tuesday and then at home on Thursday against Clinton before competing in the Teeswater tourna- ment on the weekend. Bantams looking good with 5-3 win in Z uri c h Wingham's Lake Huron Bantams are locking stronger in their past three games. Two weeks ago they put away EIma Logan with a 6-3 win. A tight 5-4 loss in Goderich the following day didn't discourage them. On Dec. 2, they bounced back in Zurich with a 5-3 victory over the horn team. Two lads from Peewee "Bs", Chris Patterson... and Shawn Paw, made up for a shortfall of players for the Wingham Bantams in the Zurich match. Luke Cronin played a good game in goal, robbing Zurich of several scoring chances.
