HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Wingham Advance-Times, 1989-11-28, Page 13• '. • Couple living in Belgrave following October nuptials Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hallahan are residing in Belgrave following their exchange of marriage vows on Sat- urday, Oct. 21, at St: Augustine Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Hal- lahan, the former Julie Nicholls, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Shaw of Wingham and the late Fred Nicholls. Her husband is the son of ,Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hallahan, Blyth. Rev. Frank Dentinger performed the double -ring ceremony amid a black and white altar setting. Black and white bows marked the guest pews. Wayne Forster, friend of the bride, was organist and special vocal numbers were provided by the Belanger Sisters, Vicki, Carol and Lori. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Stephan Nicholls of Owen Sound, and chose a white satin princess gown trimmed with shimmering appliques of sequins and pearls on Alencon lace.. Pearls accented the neckline and long sleeves and a cathedral train edged with lace fell from a satin bow. She carried a cascade of black and white roses and black lilies, accent- ed with ivy and black and white ribbon. The bride's senior attendants wore long-sleeved black satin dresses with sweetheart necklines and gathered bodices, cocktail - length with slight sweeping trains. The bride's nephew, Kevin Nicholls of Owen Sound, was ringbearer. The black and white theme con- tinued for the reception which was held at the Blyth Community Cen- tre. A black and white wedding cake was, an added touch. The couple honeymooned at a lodge in the Pocono Mountains. High prizes were won by Mrs. Gordon, Louttit and Stanley Black; second high, Mrs. Mary Chamney and Gordon Louttit. Low scores won prizes for Mrs. Dorothy Logan and Lorne Jarinieson.
