Couple living in Belgrave
following October nuptials
Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hallahan are
residing in Belgrave following their
exchange of marriage vows on Sat-
urday, Oct. 21, at St: Augustine
Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Hal-
lahan, the former Julie Nicholls, is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Shaw of Wingham and the late Fred
Nicholls. Her husband is the son of
,Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hallahan, Blyth.
Rev. Frank Dentinger performed
the double -ring ceremony amid a
black and white altar setting. Black
and white bows marked the guest
pews. Wayne Forster, friend of the
bride, was organist and special
vocal numbers were provided by
the Belanger Sisters, Vicki, Carol
and Lori.
The bride was given in marriage
by her brother, Stephan Nicholls of
Owen Sound, and chose a white
satin princess gown trimmed with
shimmering appliques of sequins
and pearls on Alencon lace.. Pearls
accented the neckline and long
sleeves and a cathedral train edged
with lace fell from a satin bow. She
carried a cascade of black and
white roses and black lilies, accent-
ed with ivy and black and white
ribbon.
The bride's senior attendants
wore long-sleeved black satin
dresses with sweetheart necklines
and gathered bodices, cocktail -
length with slight sweeping trains.
Lianne Swanson of Goderich,
cousin of the bride, was matron of
honor and bridesmaids were Terri
Shaw of Goderich, also a cousin,
Christine Hallahan of Blyth, the
groom's sister and Brenda Hall of

with white roses, ivy, pearls and
white ribbon.
The groom's cousin, Ashley Hal-
lahan of Barrie, was flower girl,
wearing a cocktail -length dress
with black neckline bow and black
and white accessories. She carried a
white basket containing black and
white flowers and accents.
Kevin Riley of Teeswater, a friend
of the groom, was best man and
guests were ushered by two cousins
of the groom, Vern Sterner of.Wing-
ham and Jim Hallahan of Blyth and
a brother, Paul Hallahan of Blyth.
The bride's nephew, Kevin Nicholls
of Owen Sound, was ringbearer.
The black and white theme con-
tinued for the reception which was
held at the Blyth Community Cen-
tre. A black and white wedding
cake was, an added touch.
The couple honeymooned at a
lodge in the Pocono Mountains.
The bride, a gracinatt. rif the E..iy
Childhood Education program at
Conestoga College, is supervisor at
the Teeswater Child Care Centre.
The groom is employed by William
E. Hallahan Construction.

spent the weekend at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wightman of
Fergus and celebrated Barbara's
birthday. Other guests were Murray
and Donna Latronica, Tom and
Brenda Pilings, Garry and Lorna
McArthur and Jason.
Bob and Marie Strong spent the
weekend with Keith and Marg
Finnigan, Dorchester.
Rick Alcorn of Orangeville spent
the weekend with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. James Alcorn. Douglas
Alcorn of London visited Saturday
evening at the same home.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Neill of
RR 2, Wingham, visited Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. George Brown.
Mrs. Stewart Strong underwent
surgery in Listowel Memorial Hos-
pitaL
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mundell vis-
ited Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Jeffray of Belmore.
Belmore euchre
attracts 21
In spite of an early winter storm,
21 players turned out Nov. 16 at the
Bele:ore Euchre Night.
High man was Ken Dickson; sec-
ond was Elmer Jeffray. Berdella
Kieffer was high lady, with Linda
Davidson second. Mildred Dickson
had most lone hands.
The door prize went to Elmer
Dickert.
Hostesses were Cathy Mulvey,
Mary Wallace and Mabel Bos.

BELGRAVE—More than fifty
euchre players, comprising a total
of 13 tables, attended the weekly
party in the WI Hall on Nov. 22.
High prizes were won by Mrs.
Gordon, Louttit and Stanley Black;
second high, Mrs. Mary Chamney
and Gordon Louttit. Low scores
won prizes for Mrs. Dorothy Logan
and Lorne Jarinieson. Mrs. Jean
Howes and Harvey Edgar had the
most zeros..
There will be euchre again on
Wednesday, Nov. 29, starting at 8
