lovely autumn touch to a happy
occasion when a ceremony in Bllue-
vale United Church united in mar-

Parents of- the bride are Wendell
and Evelyn Stamper of Bluevale
•and the groom is a son of Ed and
Fran Cameron, Palmerston.
The bride chose a white full-
length gown with medium train.
Lace embroidery trimmed the
square neckline and hemline and
capped the long sheer sleeves. A
net wreath trimmed with pearls
held a short veil and she carried a
cascade of burgundy and dusty
rose carnations surrounding two
orchids and accented with pink
rosebuds, baby's breath and lily -of -
the -valley,
The matron of honor, Mrs. Kim
Miller, sister of the groom, and
bridesmaid, Mrs. Darlene Fear, sis-
ter of the bride, wore cocktail -
length burgundy dresses with lace
bodices. V-shaped headpieces with
Ecumenical service
held at St. Andrew's
An ecumenical service was held
recently at St. Andrew's Presbyteri-
an Church, the purpose of which
was to give witness to the sanctity
of life. More than 125 people took
part in this prayer vigil. Rev. J.
Vaudry welcomed all to the service
which was initiated by Wingham
Voice for Life and prepared by the
Wingham Ministerial Association.
Rev. S. Soltysik led the first
prayer, which stated that the great
treasure of human life is entrusted
to all and asked that civilization see
the sanctity of life in all. Mrs. Hinke
Bakelaar read the Old Testament
lesson from Exodus and Rey, 9.
Madge led the respdnsiFe 'ibat ft
from Psalms.
Captain B. Linkletter offered a
thanksgiving prayer, reminding all
to be thankful for the human family

Luckndw Christian Reformed
Church. He referred to the story of

recently. Dr. Kober, after carrying a
general medical practice in Oakville
for many years, volunteered her
services to the Third World when
she retired.
Born and raised in rural Ontario,
Dr. Kober's medical specialty is
maternity and infant mortality. At
age 70, she went to Malawi and
served as a medical doctor in a
rural hospital operated by the
Church of Central Africa Presbyte-
rian.
In the two years she was there,
she made a tremendous difference
in the life expectancy of children in
the Livingstonia area and made
great improvements to the hospital
there.
Dr. Kober will visit Wingham
tonight, Tuesday, Nov 21, at 8 p.m.
at St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church. She will tell of her work
experience in Malawi and show
slides.

Rev. D. Whitelaw stated that one
must repent before God, receive
forgiveness• and serve Cod. Follow-
ing prayers of intercession, Mr.
Vaudry gave the final benediction.
