as Wingham repre ,entative six
months ago,
Mrs. Yake says the response to
the program has been phenomenal
and estimates she has made at least
100 visits, welcoming newcomers to
the community or families with
new babies.
When she moved to Wingham
from Exeter two years, ago, Mrs.
Yale was astonished tofind the
town had no Welcome Wagon rep-
resentative. She decided to take it
upon herself and contacted head
office. The wheels •were'put in
motion and earlier this. year, she
became Wingham's first Welcome
Wagon representative in several
years.
In addition to Wingham, she also
visits clients in theoutlying com-
munities of Belgrave, Bluevale and
Whitechurch:

The response to her Welcome
Wagon visits has been fabulous,
says Mrs. Yake and adds that most
people are overwhelmed to learn
that the town cares.
She knows what it is like to come
to a small community and not
know anyone. Being a Welcome
Wagon hostess has allowed her to
make new friends and do some-
thing for the community.
