Twelve members answered mll call with a recipe and Mrs. Dorothy Ruppel gave a good financial report. The president read letters from groups seeking donations and thank -you letters for donations, from Friendship House and St. Monica's House. Members received notice of the annual conference of the Anglican Church at St. Paul's on April 28. Orders were taken for church calendars and final plans were made for the annual Christ- mas party. A noon luncheon was planned for Nov 23. Mrs. Georgina Zimmerman brought the mystery gift, won by Mrs. Joan Cane. Auctioneer for the evening was Mrs. Greta Bennett. Mrs. Koebel and Mrs. Barb Bennett served lunch. accented with sequins and pearls and the cathedral train was accent- ed with lace cutouts. She wore a matching hat with a short veil. She carried a bouquet of purple and white roses, tiger lilies, baby's breath and pearls. The maid of honor was Denise Riehl of Goderich. Bridesmaids were Terri Shaw, Goderich, Cindy Stewart, Waterloo, Nicole Haskell, cousin of the bride, Chatham and Angela Walker, Wingham, They wore cocktail -length gowns of purple satin featuring a V - peplum and short puffed sleeves. They wore matching flowers in their hair and carried bouquets of carnations and tiger lilies in shades of purple, accented with baby's breath and pearls. ' Ringbearer was Aaron Shuttle- worth, brother of the bride, Sheffield. The best man was Wayne Mann of Wingham. Ushers were Jeff Espensen, Lis- towel, Greg Stewart, Waterloo, David Harding, RR 1, Corrie and Paul Douglas, brother of the groom, RR 1, Gorrie. The bride's mother wore a pink cope dress with a corsage of pink o ids. The groom's mother wore a three-piece crepe dress of black and yellow with a corsage of cream -colored orchids. Following the ceremony a recep- tion was held at the Howick Com- munity Centre. Gary Douglas, Tottenham, broth- er of the groom was master of cere- monies. Out-of-town guests attended from Kingston, Sarnia, Chatham, London, Goderich, Brampton, Kitchener, Paisley and surrounding couple honeymooned at Nia- gara Falls and now resides at 168 Wissler Road, Waterloo. Remembrance Day theme for members of WMS GORRIE—A Remembrance Day e theme prevailed when the Women's Missionary Societyof Knox Presby- terian Church met at the home of Mrs. Glenn Underwood. She opened the meeting, with a Remem- brance Day verse and scripture. Her meditation was entitled "Remember Those Who Have Fall- en". She concluded the devotional period with a prayer and a hymn of remembrance. Roll call was answered with a verse on remembrance and "In Flanders Fields" was repeated in Lakelet woman receives volunteer -service award Ruth Wolfe of Clifford has been recognized for her outstanding vol- unteer work in recreation with a regional Corps d'Elite award, Ontario Minister of Tourism and Recreation Ken Black has announced. The award was presented by Bud Bitton, a ministry recreation consul- tant in a ceremony today at Saugeen District Secondary School in Port Elgin. Mrs. Wolfe has served as secre- tary and treasurer on the Lake Huron Zone board of directors of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Association. The theme of the conference was "Mission in Christ's Way". The study ended with a prayer by Mrs. Moir and the singing of a hymn. Mrs. Mundell closed the meeting with the Serenity Prayer. The December meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Moir on the 6th. Legion boasts 21 tables of shoot players A large group of shoot players created 21 tables of fun at the Wing - ham Legion Hall last Monday night. Nell Johnston had the high pink card, Jim Coultes the high white card. Don McCormick and Cliff Johnston tied for the most shoots, with Don winning the prize. 6 Low prizes went to Priscilla Bray and Earl Hamilton and draw prizes were awarded to Chris Nicholson, Harvey Edgar,, Norma Hamilton, Bob Fraser and George Mitchell.
