Julaine Griffith Mr. Sakasov's Grade 3-4 is hav- ing a great time so far this year,• even though they have been work- ing very hard. In math they are learning times tables and having fun by playing "Math Challenge' and "Around the World". They are games that involve adding,'sub- tracting, multiplication and . divid- ing The Grade 3 and 4 have also been doing projects with flowers in sci- ence and having a great time learn- ing to play chess. Erin Whiteley Mr. Bowyer's intermediate self- contained class is learning about the building indti$try. They visited the Sacred Heart Church. They had a tour, learned the different materi- als being used, the safety precau- tions that had to be taken and they learned the different lobs that are used while building'the church. They also visited Maitland Engi- neering and saw how computers are used. For the next two months, they are going to be learning about farming. This week they are learn- ing about dairy farms and pig farms. Theyhave very Much enjoyed their first month of school. Kendra Merkley Mrs. Schedler's Grade 5 class has celebrated the coming of Autumn with their leaf paintings which' 1nisw decorate the classroom and hall- way, just outside their door. The students are now experimenting with bean plants and how their sur- roundings affect their growth. To help their writing and punctuation, they have been paired up with other children their age.
