Hallowe'en is nearly here and the
National Fire Protection Associa-
tion (NFPA) offers the following
fire safety tips to keep little ones
safe and happy on their treasure
hunts.
Purchase only, these costernee,
wigs and props labeled pass -flame -
resistant.
Give each child an inexpensive
flashlight to carry while trick -or -

carry a candle.
Be sum your children know what
to do in case their clothing catches
fire: STOP, DROP AND ROLL.
When decorating for parties, use
flame -resistant decorations and

flashlights whenever possible. If
candles must be used, locate therm

the watchful eye of an adult, not be
disturbed and where they will -not
come in contact. with flammable
materials. Never leave parties for
children unsupervised.
When planning holiday parties
for adults, remember to place plen-
ty of large, deep ashtrays and check
them frequently during the party.

furniture cushions for dropped.or
forgotten cigarettes which may
smoldering.
