celebrate Thanksgiving
GORRIE—The Thanksgiving
theme predominated when the
Women's Missionary Society of
Knox Church held its October
meeting in the church. It began
with a potluck dinner. The Johnny
Appleseed Grace was sung and all
sat down to a sumptuous repast.
Mrs. Gordon Moir led devotions,
using a Thanksgiving hymn, the
first five verses of Psalm 105 and an
article entitled "The jciy• of Being"
by Susan Conley Then followed a
prayer of Thanksgiving.
The members answered the roll
call by choosing a favorite hymn
and a verse of each of the favorites
was sung. Mrs. Glenn Underwood
reminded the members that Glad
Tidings subscriptions are due in
November.
The Book Game was the special
entertainment. Questions from the
Bible were open for all to answer,
reminded members of things they
had forgotten and added to their
Biblical knowledge. A singsong of
modern hymns
from Praiseways.
Mrs. Robinson concluded the
Meeting, asking all to join in,
singing a hymn of gratitude and in
repeating the Lord's Prayer.
