''Sleepyhead Storytime" is a
library program for children ages
three to five years old. This pro-

After the delicious Thanksgiving
meals served Iasi week at the Day
Centre, I'm sure 'we'll all be looting
like turkeys soon:
Our cook, Catherine Casemore,
celebrated working one week at the
centre last week. We appreciate all
the work it takes to plan and pre-
pare those delicious meals.
This Tuesday we'll celebrate the
spirit of October at Kitchener -
Waterloo Oktoberfest. We'll spend
the day at Bingetnan Park where
we'll enjoy a`Gprman Buffet and
kick up our heels to the Oom-pa-
pah music and entertainment.
Another reminder that the centre
will be closed Oct. 12 and 13 for the
Wingham Hospital Auxiliary Rum-
mage Sale.
Next week we will be viewing a
Slide Show of Cathy's (our clerk -
bookkeeper) vacation.
We have been busy doing crafts
for our fast -approaching craft and
bake sale on Nov 23 in the after-
noon.
Many of the ladies have been
busy at our quilt. After our
Wednesday.quilting bee our quilt
will be ready for the sale's raffle.
Tickets will go on sale soon.
Cement wet, Sportsmen
play floor shuffleboard
A new cement floor has been-
installed
eeninstalled at the Wingham Sports-
men's Club and as the cement still
Was too wet last Thursday and the
weather cold and wet outside, club
members had a shuffleboard tour-
nament instead.
\ The new floor will be ready for
play this week. The results of the
shuffleboard am as follows:

passes at Brookhaven

A longtime eesicirrnt of
Brookhaven Nursing Heinle . Wing -
ham, passed away there on Mon-
day, Oct. 2. Miss Emma Johnston
was in her 95th year.
Mabel Emeline Johnston was
born Dec. 24, 1894, in Morris Town-
ship, a daughter of the late Richard
Johnston and Isabella Fraser. She
received her elementary education
at Browntown School, Morris
Township and, after her graduation
from Wingham High School,
attended Business College in Toron-
to, She worked as a bookkeeper in
Toronto for some time, before
returning to Bluevale where .she
Was bookkeeper at Bluevale Cream-
ery.
During her active years when she
lived in Bluevale, she was a mem-
ber of the Bluevale Women's Insti-
tute, Bluevale United Church and
the United Church Women.
Miss Johnston was the aunt of
Mary Isabel Nethery of Belgrave,
Harold and James Johnston, both of
RR. 4, Wingham. She was prede-
ceased by her sister, Mrs. Cooper
(Edna) Nethery and her brothers,
Charles and Alfred.
Friends paid their respects at The
,McBurney Funeral Home, Wing-
ham. Funeral service was conduct-
ed at two o'clock Tuesday, Oct. 3,
by Rev. Bonnie Cole Arnal. Inter-
ment followed in Wingham Ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Ken, Murray,
Clem, Keith, Rick and Rob Johnston
and floral tributes were carried by
Arlene and Kimberly Johnston.
Mrs. Gregory Fischer
leaves many descendants
A former resident of Carrick
Township and recently a resident of
the village of Teeswater, Mrs. Gre-
gory Fischer, passed away sudden-
ly at Wingham and District Hospi-
tal on Friday, Oct. 6. She was in her
83rdY ear.
The former Anna Marie Huber,
Mrs. Fischer was predeceased by
her husband in 1963. She was the
dear mother of Jim and Doris Fisch-
er of RR 2, Mildmay; Loraine and
Bob Mousseau of Belgium; Lucille
and Lindsay Spielmacher of Inger-
soll; Tom and Coriene Fischer, RR 2,
Mildmay; Lorna and Karl Lang,
Paul and Evelyn Fischer, all of
Teeswater; Art and Eileen Fischer,
RR 2, Wingham; Laurette and , Jack
Maxwell, Ingersoll; Hubert Fischer
of Climax, Sask.; Jack and Marlene
Fischer, Teeswater; Ray and Judy
Fischer, RR 2, Teeswater; Anna Lou
and Barrie Kin of Perth; Ted and
Barb Fischer, RR 2, Mildmay; Linda
and Jim McKee, RR 3, Teeswater;
Leone and Dave Millen, RR 2,
Teeswater; Lenore and Joe Brick of
Waterloo.
Mrs. Fischer is also survived by
53 grandchildren; 21g g

Mildmay. She was predeceased by
her parents, Simon and' Mary
Huber; her son, William; one sister
and three brothers.

their second son, Tyler Desmond,
born Sept. 29 at St. Joseph's Hospi-
tal, London. Tyler tipped the scales
at an even seven pounds and is a
little brother for Ryan. Proud

great-grandparents are Carl and
Erma Fitch and Connie McMinn, all

EDGAR --Passed away suddenly
on Friday, Oct. 6, in London in his
53rd year, Bruce Edgar, loving
father of Debbie Ruston and Marcie
McKinley , both of Stratford; loved
grandfather of Amy and Jeffrey
Ruston :and Sara and Amber Mc-
Kinley; beloved son of Winttifred
Edgar of Brussels and the late Mur -
die Edgar; dear brother of John of
Georgetown, Don of Shallow Lake
and Jim, Listowel. Bruce will be
missed by four nieces; six nephews;
two great-nephews and one great-
niece. Cremation has taken place. A
memorial service is being held
today (Tuesday) at 11 a.m. at Betts
Funeral Home, Brussels Chapel. In
