The Wingham Lake Huron Mov-
ing Systems Bantam boys defeated
Goderich two games to one to win
the Tri -County championship in
town last Tuesday night.
The two teams were very dosely
matched with Wingham winning
the first game 5-4 in 10 innings, los-
ing the second game in Goderich 4-
3 and winning the final 4-3 in

bottom half of the 10th inning with
a solid double, advanced to third
on a wild pitch and was driven
home with a single over second by
Russell Sutton.
Scott Neil pitched a solid seven
innings with Peter Poulin coming
on in relief, keeping the home team
in the game for the victory.
The Bantams are thankful to their

weather of the final series.

Rain and cold winds prevented
the lady golfers from playing a final
round on closing day Last week at
the Wingham Golf and Curling
Club. However, members gathered
iast Tuesday evening for dinner and
the annual presentation of awards.
Ladies' Captain Myrla Frank pre-
sented the trophies to this year's
winners. The Carling Trophy for
club champion went to NancY
Inwood; the McKinney Trophy for
net play to Hilda Andrew, who also
won the match -play championship.
The Wilma Kerr Trophy for
senior ladies' champion was won
by Fern Wylie and the Certlymi
Bowl for nine -hole competition
• went to Gayle Neil.
Margaret MacLeod, handicap
chairman, announced the winners
of the CLGA awards. Pin -round
winners were Barb Helm and
Shirley ,Siddall, net score winner
was Ms. Andrew and most -
Unproved golfer was Ms. Siddall.
The special awards chairman,
Ms. Siddall, presented the prize for
the nest kir-lies to Mrs. Ihwood,
most pairs to Mrs. Frank and most
chip -ins to herself.
The three flight winners of the
ringer score competition were Car-
olyn Schofield, Barb Helm and
Carol Reid. ,

country meet last Saturday. Turning
in some excellent performances,
team members earned three medals
and four fourth, fifth and sixth-
place ribbons.
Mite girls Janet Lisle and Ginny
Schenk ran excellent races with
respective times of 4:34 minutes for
a bronze medal and 4:35 min. for a
fourth -place ribbon.
Jamie Schiestel was sixth at 5:15
min. and Jennifer Allison ran the
course in 5:16 min. for seventh
place. Audrae Dickson was eighth
at 5:18 min.
Mite boy David Lisle managed to
finish in seventh place with a time
of 4:57 min., while teammate Zach-
ary O'Krafka finished in ninth spot
with a time of 5:01 min.
Tyke girl Mary Lisle ran the
1,500 -metre in 7:19 min, earning the
fifth -place ribbon. Christa Pegg ran
in 7:27 min., for a seventh -place fin-
ish and Jennifer Mack ran it in 9:39
min. for 14th.
Atom girl Julie Lisle ran in excel-
lent form to earn the silver medal
with a time of 7:45 min, in the
2,000m run.
Atom boy Stuart McKay finished
in Ilth place with a time of 12:42
min.
Bantam girl Nancy Lobb had an
excellent race, finishing third to
earn the bronze ribbon with a time
of 8:19 min. in the 3,000m.
Bantam boy Shawn Gedcke had a
good run, earning a fifth -place rib-
bon with a time of 12:46 min.
