Royal Hames' display court officially opened last week The jewel in the Royal Homes' crown — its modern, new display court just east of Wingham — was officially opened at a ceremony last Thursday evening. As Royal Homes General Manag- er Doug Penson said in his brief comments, 1989 has been a big year for the company. Royal Homes has seen a number of milestones this year, including the construction of a new plant at Peterborough, twice the size of its Wingham operation. As well, the newest Royal Home model, "The Victorian", was unveiled to rave reviews late last month at the international plowing match. The company is justly proud of its six -home display court located on Highway 86 just east of Wing - ham in Turnberry Township. Six homes are on display in what Mr. Penson called "the cornerstone" of the Royal Homes' operation. He said the company has plans to erect similar display courts in Chatham, Kingston and Peterbor- ough. Turnberry Reeve Brian McBurney congratulated the township's largest "corporate citizen" on its latest success. "We have watched you grow," said the reeve, wishing the company continued success in the future. Following the ribbon -cutting cer- emony, guests toured the six model homes on site. It is estimated that ,no less than 1,000 people have toured the display court each week since it opened just over one month ago.
