Mr. and Mrs. Wally Nixon are enjoying a week's vacation with their son, Howard, at Sault Ste. Marie. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Taucher of Toronto visited Wednesday with Mrs. Alma Hargrave. We have several young ladies competing for this year's Howick Fair Queen title. The competition will be held at Howick Community Centre on Saturday, Sept. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Kennedy recently entertained members of the latter's family for a social after- noon. A shower was held for Heather Pepper, who became the bride of Jeffery Cober on Saturday, Sept. 9. ANNIE CAMPBELL of Morris Township celebrated her 93rd birthday Sunday. Born Annie McNaughton on Sept. 23, 1896, Mrs,. Campbell was educated at Douglas' School. She married her husband, the late Oliver Campbell, in 1922 and .came to live on the first concession of Morris, where she has resided ever since. Mrs. Campbell raised a family of eight (one son is deceased) and' has 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
