competing for this year's Howick
Fair Queen title. The competition
will be held at Howick Community
Centre on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Kennedy
recently entertained members of
the latter's family for a social after-
noon. A shower was held for
Heather Pepper, who became the
bride of Jeffery Cober on Saturday,
Sept. 9. About 25 attended from

Mrs. Clarkson, Mrs. Elmer Hard-
ing and Mrs. Don Beck presented a
very interesting talk on the theme
"The Sermon on the Mount",
Matthew Ch. 5, 6 and 7, which
includes the Beatitudes, the Com-
mandarients, The Lord's Prayer, the
Parables, the Righteousness of the
Kingdom of Heaven.
The service closed with prayer
led by Rev. Don Beck.

Friends of Mrs. Ken Heimpel will

home following surgery in Wing -
ham and District Hospital and wish
her a speedy return to good. health.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Field visited
with their family in Toronto over
the weekend and enjoyed the Blue
Jays ball game at the SkyDeme.
MRS. ANNIE CAMPBELL of Morris Township celebrated her
93rd birthday Sunday. Born Annie McNaughton on Sept. 23, 1896,
Mrs,. Campbell was educated at Douglas' School. She married her
husband, the late Oliver Campbell, in 1922 and .came to live on the
first concession of Morris, where she has resided ever since. Mrs.
Campbell raised a family of eight (one son is deceased) and' has 25
grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
