Wingharn family bereaved
by death of Glenn Jardine
Glenn William Jardine passed
away at his home in Hamilton in
his 57th year. Glenn was born at
Brussels on July 23, 1933, son of
Mrs. Alma (Cathers) Jardine of
Wingham and the late William Jar -
dine. He received his education at
Brussels Continuation School and
worked with Ontario Hydro for 38
years in Wingham, Dundas and Lis-
towel.
Glenn was a member of the Dun-

DERFERD-Passed away at Kin-
cardine and District General Hospi-
tal on Tuesday, Sept. 5, following a
valiant struggle with cancer,
Leonard•Derferd, formerly of Kitch-
ener, aged 64 years. Leonard was a
longtime employee of Jonas TV of
Cambridge before early retirement.
He also coached local baseball
teams and enjoyed many other
sports. He was a member of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church; beloved
husband of Violet (De Brusk); lov-
ing father of Linda Mockewicius of
Kitchener; Sherree and her hus-
band, Tim Cybulski of Guelph;
stepfather of Gary De Brusk and his
wife, Bernadette, Jack De Brusk and
his wife, Barbara, Edward De Brusk
and his wife, Joan, all of Kitchener;
brother of Lydia Habermehl of Cal-
gary; also sadly missed by 12
grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. He was predeceased
by his parents; his first wife,
Genevieve (Osga) in 1963; twin
sons, Gary and Larry Derferd; step-
son, Ronald De Brusk and one
grandson, Brian Holley. Funeral
service was held at the Ratz-Bechtel
Chapel, Kitchener, on Friday, Sept.
8, with interment lit St. Peter's
Lutheran Cemetery;
ARMSTRONG -Surrounded by
his family, Bruce Hainstock Arm-
strong passed away peacefully on
Thursday, Sept. 7, at his home in
Fordwich. He was the beloved hus-
band of Ruby (Harrifield); loving -
father of Elizabeth and her hus-
band, David Schneider of Kitchen-
er; lovingly remembered and sadly
missed by two grandchildren, Mark
and Barbara. He was predeceased
by his parents, Richmond Arm-
strong and Elizabeth Hainstock and
two sisters, R>,Iby and Edna. A
memorial service was held Sept. 9
at Betts Funeral Home, Corrie
Chapel. Cremation has taken place.
By Mr. Armstrong's request, there
are to be no flowers or plants at the
residence. As expressions of sym-
pathy, donations to the general
fund of Trinity Anglican Church,
Fordwich, would be appreciated.

mourns passing
of a dear mother
The Richard Campeau family of
Wingham was recently saddened
by the death of Richard's mother,
Dora Campeau, on Aug. 26 in
Windsor, in her 87th year.
Dora Campeau is survived by
her eight children: Josephine,
Leonard, Doris, Jane, Bernard, Ruth
Ann, all of Windsor; Bernice of Lon-
don and Richard of Wingham; 33
grandchildren and 35 great-grand-
children. She was predeceased by
her husband, Wilfred, in 1978.
Funeral service was held Tues-
day, Aug. 29, at Saint John Vianney
Church, with burial at Heavenly
Rest in Windsor.
Richard, Sally, Rachelle and
Natalie will always cherish memo-
ries of their mother's and grand-
mother's gentleness and loving
ways.
BELLERBY=Passed away at
Cambridge Memorial Hospital on
Sept. 5, Christine Bellerby (Hislop)
of Golden Years Nursing Home,
Cambridge, formerly of Kitchener
and Listowel, aged 89 years. A
native of Morris Township, she was
the loving mother of Lois Hislop of
Cambridge and Campbell Hislop of
Kitchener; dear sister of Mrs. Edna
Mills, Goderich and sadly missed
by three grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. She was pre-
deceased by her parents, Duncan
Campbell and the former Margaret
McEwen; her first husband,
Lawrence Henry Hislop and her
second husband, Milton Bellerby;
two brothers, John and Victor and
two sisters, Luella and Mabel.
Funeral service was held Friday,
Sept. 8, at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral
Home, Kitchener, with interment in
Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

his passing are his wife, the former
Mary Gordon; one daughter, Victo-
ria (Vickie) of Kitchener; one son,
Russel of Monkton; one stepson,
Michael Fahlenbock and his wife,
Heather; a stepdaughter, Kelly
Fahlenbock; his mother, Mrs. Jar-
dine; two sisters, Mrs. Jack
(Dorothy) McDonald of Brussels
and Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Hodgins,
Wingham.
Friends and relatives were
received Monday at Betts Funeral
Home, Corrie Chapel. A Masonic
service was held at 9 Monday
evening. Funeral service was con-
ducted at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5 at the
funeral home, with Rev. J. Hawkins
officiating.
Pallbearers were his two sons,
Russel Jardine and Michael Fahlen-
bock; nephews, Paul and John
McDonald of Brussels, David and
Richard Hodgins of Wingham. Gail,
Marilyn and Jane McDonald; Kelly
Fahlenbock, Cathy Hill and Joanne
Hodgins were flower *r+em
Interment followed in Corrie
Cemetery. Gorrie United Church
Women served lunch after the ser-
vice.
Glenn was predeceased by his
father, William Jardine and a step-
son, Joe Fahlenbock.
