Toronto spent a few clays recently
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson. Mac
Corbett of London and McKee
Davidson of Listowel also spent a
day at the Wilson home.

returned home last week after visit-
ing with friends at North Bay and

six-week vacation with relatives in

gan, returning home on Tuesday of

Matthew and Michael Nixon of
Kitchener spent a week's holday
with their grandparents, Mr, and
Mrs. Wally Nixon. The boys and
Mrs. Nixon also spent a day at
Canada's Wonderland.

Nixon. Norman Nixon of Kitchener
also spent a day at his parents'

George Richards returned home
recently follOwing a six-week motor
trip to British Columbia, up the
Cartier Highway to Alaska, North-
west Territories and The Yukon. He
came home via Dauphin, Manitoba
and visited there with his son and
daughter-in-law, Rev. Bill RichardS'
and Rev. Ellen Richards.
*Mr. and Mrs. George Richards -
attended the wedding on Saturday,
Aug. 26, of their son, Jim and Sue
Hundermack. The wedding tool(
Capacity crowds attend
Westfield anniversary
Westfield Church held its 100th
anniversary at special services Sun-
day, Aug. 27, al11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Capacity crowds were in atten-
dance. Both morning and evening
services were directed by Murray
Taylor. Music was provided, with
Phyllis Boak at the piano and
Daniel Snell at the organ.
The guest speaker was Don Vair
of Belgrave, a former pastor of this
church for nine years. His scripture
reading was taken from Paul's first
letter to Timothy, chapter six and
his message was "Fight the Good
Fight of the Faith". Special, music
was a solo by Bill Bush of Toronto
who sang "How Great Thou Art".
A quartet consisting of Lloyd
Walden, Harvey McDowell, Jeff
Wittich and Shane Snell rendered
two beautiful numbers, "Though
Your Sins Be as Scarlet" and "That
Beautiful Land".
In the evening, the guest speaker
was Rev. John Campbell of
Welland. He is a son of Douglas
and Gladys Campbell of the West-
field community aide as a ung,'''
rad; John attended this diuih. The
scripture reading was tak from
Ephesians, chapter one, and his
message was "The Church". The
evening music was provided by
Mary Vair at the piano aid Don
Vair at the organ. Don and Mary
sang two duets, "Under His
Wings" and "Oh, How I Love
Jesus".
For the morning service, both the
auditorium and basement were
filled to capacity. Sound system and
video allowed the crowd in the
basement to view the service. Fol-
lowing the service the crowd gath-
ered ata restaurant to enjoy a noon
luncheon. A luncheon following the
evening service was enjoyedin the
church basement and on the church
lawn under the floodlights.
During the afternoon, there was a
picture display on the walls of the
basement, featuring old-time pic-
tures and family pictures depicting
the lives of those connected with
the church's 100 years of history.
The display was thoroughly
enjoyed by all.

HURON COUNTY SHEEP
CLUB
The last meeting of the Huron
County Sheep Club took place last
Tuesday, 7.30 p.m. at the home of
Florence Pullen.
The club opened the meeting
with the 4-1-1 pledge. The last min-
utes were read and business was
discussed. Mrs. Todd, who was pre-
sent at the meeting, discussed the
Junior Sheep Show at the Royal
Winter Fair. The club practised
showing by using other members
for the sheep.
After discussing showing, senior
projects were talked about. Jennifer
Procter explained her project which
was a scale model of a sheep barn.
Then Lana Jones gave a report of
`.1. the mineral box that she was build-
ing for her operation. Cindy Camp-
schroer, who is also building a min-
eral box, had received plans for
(11 one.
The meeting closed with the 441
motto and Florence served:401%h-
, nuts and juice. Florence as
thanked for hosting the Meeting
and the members Were wished
good luck for their achievement

came from all points in Western
Ontario.

Dauphin, Manitoba. Following, the
wedding, the bride and gloom left
for a two-week honeymoonin
Greece, and upon retqrning home,
they will reside in Stratford.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Johnston of
Sarnia spent last weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Douglas. Gary Dou-
glas of Tottenham also spent the
weekend with his parents.
Jim Douglas returned home
Wednesday after spending a few
days at the CNE in Toronto.
Mrs. Edna Doig returned home
Tuesday after accompanying her
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Bride, to Winnipeg.
and North Dakota, Mrs. Margaret
Hawksbee of Listowel also accom-
panied them.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
David Van Denbraak who were
married Saturday, Sept. 2, with a
reception following in Kurtzville
Community Centre.
Mrs. Marian Johnston and Mrs.
Richards and son, Liam, returned to
Dauphin, Manitoba, after spending
a few days with the former's par-
ents, George and Pauline Richards.
Bill will remain in Toronto where
he is attending university.
