GORRIE--On a bright and clear
Wednesday night in July, the Ford-
wich II Club met at Pine Echo
Camp in Belmore. Everyone was
geared up for an evening of fun,
food and festivity.
The meeting started with Mrs.
Ruth Harding, a member of the
Fordwich Women's Institute, the
club's sponsor, presenting the
awards to the members and lead-
ers. Leader Sharon Kelley received
a plaque for being a first-time lead-
er. The club also had four first-time
4 -Hers, Kristen Dinsmore, Krista
Stokes, Patty Bennett and Stewart
Lockie.
Fun was next on the agenda. club.
Under the direction of Sandy and
Patty Bennett, a scavenger hunt
was held, with the club divided
into two teams with the leaders as
captains. After a search throughout
the camp, Joyce Lockie's team won.
Mrs. Barb Bennett helped by
cooking hot dogs and hamburgers.
Coreen Harding made juice and
Mary Sluis provided cookies for
dessert.
The club was fun and full of
enthusiasm. It must also have been
very creative as the club was
awarded the honor of best club
name, the Fordwich Lawn
Sprucers. Members hope to see
everyone in the fall for another

Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Stewart,
Crystal and Justin; Mr. and Mrs.
Devon Currie, Shannon, Amber
and Stacey spent several days
recently at Christian Island, Mid-
land.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Browne were
holidaying at Bancroft recently. Rev.
and Mrs. Ed Attwell of Smiths Falls
visited Mr. and Mrs. Browne and
also called on Mrs. Nellie King.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ferguson
visited with their cousins, Ken and
Joyce Ferguson of Meaford, for a
few days. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fergu-
son of Listowel visited Tuesday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Ferguson.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zimmerman,
Sanford Zimmerman, Bruce Soth-
ern of Fordwich and Michael Shan-
non of Drew attended the horse
races at Greenwood Race Track,
Toronto, on Tuesday.
Wes Gallaway, Glenn Under-
wood and Jack Underwood of
Wingham were on a fishing trip on
Lake Erie on Thursday.
Mrs. David Neilson spent a week
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rdnald
Westcott of Gravenhurst. Cheryl
and Ashley Westcott accompanied
their grandmother home and
enjoyed their holidays. Mrs.
Heather Schumacher of Red Deer,
Alberta, who also enjoyed holidays
here, is returning home Friday.
Dr. and Mrs. D. J. Charters of
Sharon spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Faust. Kari Charters,
who had spent a week with har
grandparents, returned home with
them. Emily Faust of Kurtzville vis-
ited several days ,at the same home
and returned home Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Pyke spent
a week at Macrae Point, Orillia. Mr.
and 'Mrs. Glenn Austin of
Petawawa spent a few days with
them.
Carrie Stuart spent a couple of
weeks with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar Dane. Bradley and
Craig Stuart, all of Base Borden,
were on holidays also.
Mrs. James O. Brisbin of Guelph
and her granddaughter, Miss Debo-
rah Brisbin of Tecumseh, visited Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Mundell recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Langthon Vogan of
Listowel visited Monday at the
home of Mrs. George Hetherington.

Word has been received of the
passing of Mrs. Harold (Gwen)
Edgar of Moncton, N.B., in St.
John's Regional Hospital, St. John,
N.B., on July 31. Mrs. Edgar was
the daughter-in-law of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Edgar.

Rosalea Cameron, daughter of
Don and Margaret Cameron of
RR 2, Lucknow, graduated cum
laude from the University of
Western Ontario on June 2 with
a Bachelor of Science degree in
communicative disorders. She
recently completed a speech-
language pathology internship
at Parkwood Hospital in Lon-
don and plans to further her
education in the masters of clin-
ical science program at UWO in
September.
Keith Nicholsons
are wed 25 years
• BLUEVALE—Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Nicholson, Jamestown, were pleas-
antly surprised on Saturday after-
noon when 125 friends and rela-
tives gathered on the lawn of Joe
and Hanna Nicholson to help them
celebrate their 25th wedding
anniversary.
All enjoyed 'a pig roast and a
smorgasbord dinner, complete with
anniversary cake.
Mrs. Nicholson was the former
Carol Robertson, daughter of Cora
Robertson of Wing,harp and the late
Dost Robertson. Keith is the son of
Jack and Vera Nicholson of Blue-
- vale. They have a family of four:

Rose and white theme
for teRaa-Jorritsma vows
A rose and white theme pre-
vailed at the ceremony uniting
Andrew teRaa and Annette Jorrits-
ma on, the afternoon of Saturday,
June 24, at the Lucknow Christian
Reformed Church.
Parents of the groom are Gerry
and Alice teRaa of RR 1, Ripley,
while the bride is the daughter of
Klaas and Jenie Jorritsma of RR 3,
Wingham.
Pastor Dwayne Thielke united
the couple in marriage and Diane
Martens, an aunt of the bride, was
organist. The church was decorated
with two candelabra of pink and
white roses and two baskets con-
taining roses and spring flowers.
Given in marriage by her fathgr,r
the bride chose a long-sleeved,"
fully -sequined gown with buttons
from the top of the high neck to the
lower back. Lace accented the back,
as did a long train. Delicately
embroidered pearls and sequins in
hearts and flowe,Ratterns adorned
the bodice and slaves and she car-
ried a bouquet of pink and white
roses and spring flowers.
Tracy Jarvis of Wroxeter was
maid of honor. She wore a cocktail -
length dress in fiesta rose color and
baby's breath in her hair. Irene
teRaa, bridesmaid, wore a dress of
the same style andcolor.
Richelle Jorritsma of Brussels, the
bride's niece, was flower girl. She
wore a white lace dress with rose-
colored ribbons on the sleeves and
in her hair. She carried a basket of
spring flowers.
Wayne Burgsma of Dungannon
was best man for his friend, while
Mike teRaa of Ripley was usher.
Josh Jorritsma of Brussels, the
bride's nephew, was ring bearer.
Guests were received at a recep-
tion at the Wingham Legion Hall,
where the rose and white theme
continued with balloons, spring
flowers and a balloon arch at the
door.

The bride's mother chose a deep
rose-colored, cocktail -length dress
with a white corsage and the
groom's mother wore a baby -blue,
cocktail -length dress with yellow
rose corsage.
For a honeymoon at a cabin on
Golden Lake in Northern Ontario,
the bride chose a peach sun dress
for going away. The newlyweds are
living at Belgrave.
Turnberry couple
martCs anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. William Ross Sr. cel-
ebrated their 45th wedding
anniversary at the home of their
daughter and son-in-law, Sheila
and Fred Lewis, RR 2, Tiverton, on
July 29.
Attending the the surprise sup-
per were all of their seven children
and their families.
Special guests from Glasgow,
Scotland, were Vickie and Dougie
Reilly. Art and Trudy Burke of Mis-
sissauga also attended. The high-
light of the evening was a visit from
three members of the Kincardine
Pipe Band led by John Lash. The
pipers entertained the family with
many familiar selections.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross were married
Aug. 5, 1944, at Hamilton and have
resided on their farm on the sixth
concession of Turnberry since the
spring of 1947.
,FIVE GENERATIONS got together at the Detyvberry family
reunion at Guelph recently, each one the oldest of his or her gener-
ation. Included are: back, Cheri (McInnis) Darlow, Wingham;
grandfather, Roy Dewberry; front, Carol McInnis of Wirtgharn
