Library to host
balloon workshop
Fordwich Branch Library is
pleased to present a balloon work-
shop with Marian Doucette.
Ms. Doucette will lead the chil-
dren in creating all kinds of differ-
ent shapes with balloons. Some of
these shapes include animal config-
urations, different -styled hats and
other compositions.
This hands-on experience is a
wonderful chance for creative
endeavor.
This program is sponsored by the
Huron County Library and admis-
sion is free. The time and date of
this innovative program is Thurs-
day, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m. The age
getup recommended for the pro-
gram is eight -to -12 years of age.
Registration is limited to 20 chil-
dren.

resided for a number of years in the
area and was postmaster at the
Corrie Post Office for some time.
Friends will be sorry to know
Mrs. Ben Gibson has been a patient
in University Hospital, London, for
the past two weeks, where she
underwent major surgery. She is
wished a speedy recovery to good
health.
Mrs. Winston McGrath and Mrs.
Isobel Topham attended a baby
shower for Mrs. Russel Mont-
gomery on Sunday, July 23, at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Foster,
Mississauga.
Mrs. Florence Wilson attended
the funeral of her sister-in-law, Mrs.
Mel Groves, on Monday in Rich-
mond Hill.

from University Hospital, London,
where he underwent eye surgery.
He is feeling very well.

from hospital where he was a
patient for some time. His daugh-
ter, Dora Anne Stinson of New
Brunswick, is spending some time
with her father. Friends hope
improved health will continue for
John.

evening at Huron Country Play-
house, Grand Bend:
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Foerter and
Mr. and Mrs. Heinz Claus returned
home Tuesday from a three-week
vacatintt to Amsterdam; Germany,
France, Switzerland; Austria, Lux,
emburg, Belgium and The Nether-
lands. While in the latter, they visit-
ed with relatives of Henrietta and
Heinz and also attended the wed-
ding of a cousin of Henrietta. While
in Switzerland, they visited Mr. and
Mrs. Stephen Tritten who are for-
merly of this area.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Soper visited a
few days last week with relatives at
Wheatley and Merlin. They also
drove around the Harrow -Leam-
ington area and said it was a disas-
trous sight, caused from the very
heavy rainfall of a week ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Madgette
visited last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence McLaughlin at Bobcay-
geon.
Miss Lenore Beswetherick passed
away Monday, July 24, at Listowel
Memorial Hospital. Funeral service
was held Thursday at the Betts
Funeral Home, Garde. Lenore had .
resided the past several years at the
Fordwich Village Nursing Home.
Mrs. Florence Wilson attended
the wedding of her granddaughter,
Julie Dunbar and Tom Marshall on
Saturday, July 22, in Toronto.
Mark Vanderheyden is spending
a week with his aunt and uncle at
Grimsby.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Rowley and
Glenn were pleasantly surprised on
Tuesday evening when former
neighbors of the Second and Fourth
Line and the Newbridge area gath-
ered at their farm home at Ford-
wich which they recently pur-
chased from Jim and Jean Robin-
son. During the evening, Harry
Winkel, on behalf of everyone,
wished them all the best and they
were presented with a bathroom
hamper and shelf 'unit. Glenn
received a dock.. Joan and Stewart
thanked everyone and lunch fol-
lowed.
