A memorial service was held for
Miss Lillian Potter of Belgrave on
Thursday afternoon, June 8, at the
home of Mrs. Lena Seigars of West-
field, with Rev. Douglas Zehr of
Brussels Mennonite Church in
charge. Miss Potter passed away in
Wingham and District Hospital on
Friday, June 2, following a lengthy
illness. She was m her th year.
Lillian Ruth Potter was born in
Beamsville on May 29, 1902 and
attended elementary and secondary
school there. She graduated from
Queen's University, , Kingston,
teaching high school in several
places in Canada and for three
years in Japan. She came to Bel -
grave in the early '70s and was a
member of Trinity Anglican Church
and the Belgrave Women's Insti-
tute.
Surviving are two brothers,
Robert of Hamilton and Milimar ° of
Beamsville; one sister, Elizabeth

Coletta E. Reichard of RR 1, Ford-
wich, died on June 7 at the Palmer-
ston and District Hospital. She was
81.
Mrs. Reichard was born on Aug.
11, 1907 in Howick Township. She
was a daughter of the late Samuel
and Lavina (Tilker) Beswetherick.
She issurvived by her husband,
John W. Reichard whom she mar-
ried Feb. 26, 1926 in Howick Town-
ship.
Mrs. Reichard resided at RR 1,
Fordwich all her married life.
She was a member of the Ford-
wich Brethern in Christ Church.
Besides her husband, she is sur-
vived by one son, Earl Reichard
and his wife Elva of RR 2, Gorrie;
two daughters, Phyllis and her hus-
band Wray Vines of Gowanstown
and Irene and her husband Everett
Zurbrigg of RR 2, Gorrie.
She is also survived by a sister-
in-law, Mrs. Emma Beswetherick of
Palmerston and an aunt, Mrs. 011ie
Brown of Palmerston; 10 grandchil-
dren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reichard was predeceased
by one brother Percy and one
granddaughter Nancy.
The funeral service was held on
June 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Robert
Trench Funeral Home, Listowel.
Rev. Charles Byer officiated.
Interment was in Maple Grove
Cemetery, Howick Township.
Pallbearers were Clayton Cober,
Vernon Heise, Paul Reichard, Ron
Vines, Brian Vines and Don Zur-
brigg.
Flower bearers were Bethann
Lee, Debra Orth, Angela Reichard
and Nadine Routliffe.
As expressions of sympathy,
donations to the Gideon Memorial
Bible Plan or the Canadian Bible
Society were accepted as expres-
sions of sympathy.
CLOSE—William Albert Close,
formerly of Ethel and recently a res-
ident of Callander Nursing Home,
Brussels, a member of the Canadian
Foresters, passed away at Wingham
and District Hospital on June 10 in
his 9 -6th year. Mr. Close was the
beloved son of the late Robert and
Margaret Close; loving brother of
the late Robert, Annie, Jessie,
Archibald and Joseph; dear uncle of
Bruce and Blake Tufford. Funeral
service is being held today (Tues-
day) at Watts Funeral Home, Brus-
sels Chapel, with interment in
Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. Cana-
dian Foresters, Court Woodbine
100, Cranbrook, held a memorial
service in the funeral home Mon-
day evening.

eral nieces and a nephew. She was
predeceased by one sister, Ella Pot-
ter.
Miss Lillian Potter returned to the
place of her birth, the funeral serv-
ice being held Monday, June 5, at a
Beamsville funeral home.

Wednesday, June 7, for Cathy
Brighton of Kitchener, formerly of
Wingham. Rev. Douglas G. Madge
conducted the service at two
o'clock at The McBurney Funeral
Home. Interment followed in Wing -
ham Cemetery
Pallbearers were Jeremy McKay,
Howie McKay, Peter McKay, Paul
McKay, Steven McKay and Gene
Porter. Laura McKay and Terri -
Lynn McKay carried memorial flo-4,
ral arrangements.
HONORS HISTORY
Julie Mulvey, daughter of
Murray and Catherine Mulvey,
graduated from Waterloo Uni-
versity on May 25 with an hon-
ors history -psychology minor
degree. Julie presently is
employed at the Canada
Employment Centre for Stu-
dents in Kitchener.
Cathy was born in Kitchener on
Aug. 31, 1962, and came to this area
with her family in 1968. She attend-
ed Turnberry Central School and F.
E. Madill Secondary School.
Surviving are her parents, Lloyd
Brighton and Joan McKay; two
brothers, Richard of Barrie and
Terry of Wingham and her grand
parents, John and Jean McKay of
Wingham and Ross and Erma
Brighton of Walton.
