Heart School Board ; in Winghant; being 1'iisirumental ' in having the school established. In 1968, he was elected to the Huron - Perth Separate School Board and served for six years. He was presi- dent of the Howick Agricultural Society in 1972 and 1973 and also served as a 4-H calf club leader. Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie andeight children: Marjorie and Lorne Shupe of Surrey, B.C,; Rodger and Joan Kieffer, Hamilton; Georgina and Reinhart Schreiter, Kitchener; Bill and Linda Kieffer, RR 1, Bluevale; Corinne and Michael Black, Belleville; Ron and Mary Kieffer, Wroxeter; Karen and Ralph Weishar, Stratford; Elaine and Peter Groot, Hensall. There are 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Roth, Kathleen Kieffer and Blanche Purcell and three brothers, Joseph, George and Michael. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, William and two infant sons, George and Gerard. Visitation took place at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wing - ham, on Saturday evening and Sun- day afternoon and evening. Funeral. Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Wingham, on Mon- day at 10:30, Rev. Stan Soltysik offi- ciating. Two grandchildren, Jason Kieffer and Kurt Schreiter, acted as mass servers. Honorary bearers were Norman Ross, Jack- McBurney and Rae Breckenridge. Pallbearers were Jack Ross, Brian McBurney, Paul Elgie, Sean Kieffer, Roger Kieffer and Michael Kieffer. Carrying floral tributes were Michelle Kieffer, Krista Schreiter, Tammy Kieffer, Melissa Wieder, Colleen Weishar and Jennifer Groot. Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus formed. an. honor guard as the procession was leaving the church. Memorial donations to the Sacred Heart Building Fund, Wing - ham, or the charity of one's choice are being gratefully acknowledged by the family as expressions of con- cern and sympathy
