Proposed Comprehesive
Zoning ByIaW
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the
TOWNSHIP OF MORRI$ will hold a series of public open
houses, as indicated below, to consider the proposed com-
prehensive zoning by-law.

The open houses are deemed to be public meetings under
Section 34 (12) of the Planning Act; they provide a flexible
timetable to suit the majority of ratepayers and an opportunity
to consider and discuss specific concerns. Everyone is wel-
come to drop by anytime to discuss the by-law with Council
or a County Planner.
The proposed zoning by-law affects the entire Township of
Morris as shown on the attached map below. It implements
the Morris Secondary Plan by establishing land use controls
and zones in the Township.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make
written or verbal representation either in support of or in op-
position to the proposed zoning by-law.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed zoning
by-law is available at the Township Office in Morris during
normal business hours, or alternatively by contacting the
Huron County Planning Department (524-2188). In addition, a
draft copy of the proposed by-law will be sent, for information
purposes, to alt owners of property as noted on the latest
revised assessment records.

On Wednesday, Dr. and Mrs
Charles Myers of Saskatoon spent a
i few hours with Mr. and Mrs. John-
ston.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor met
their son, Dr Ronald Taylor of St.
John's, Newfoundland, in Toronto
and from there all flew to Tampa,
Florida and spent two weeks at
Madeira Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Muilwyk of
Fonthill and Mrs. Peter Hoonard of
Blyth called on Mrs. Helen Martin
and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse
on Sunday afternoon.
Carl Johnston of Bluevale accom-
panied Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnston
to the Speiran reunion held at the
Kirkton Community Centre on Sun-
day, May 28.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Vincent
attended the wedding of their
grandson, Jeff Mitchell, and Debora
Grub, in the Roman Catholic
Church, Carlsruhe, on Saturday,
May 27.

May -28, with an excellent atten-
dance. Rev. John C. Roberts con-
ducted the service. _and Miss
Lavonne Ballagh of Wingham was
guest speaker. Music was provided
by the children's choir singing two
anthems, "I Am A Promise" and
.,Tree Song".

LEAGUE MAKES PRESENTATION—La Leche League of 13e1 -
grave has presenteda book and chair carrier to the obstetrics
deeppartmeint at Wingham and District Hospital. The book is entitled
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding and as presented by Jeanette
Harris of Blyth to obstetrical nurse Lynne Walker. Janice Van Osch
and infant son Peter are in the chair, donated by the league several
years ago.

Hearts Round Dance group held its
last dance of the season May 26.
" The evening began at 7 p.m. with a
roast beef dinner served by the
Rebekah Lodge No. 306, Clinton.
President Ross Leakey expressed
thanks to the dancers for their
attendance and help throughout the
year. Leaders Lois and Ed Wise
were presented with a restaurant

Heather, a member of the Campus
Crusade for Christ from Guelph
University, told about the 10 days
she spent in Mexico City with a
group of students, showing a film
on the life of Jesus and distributing
pamphlets about Christianity to the
Mexican people. She also showed
pictures taken during her time
there.
A second speaker was Verna Mae
Brinsefield from Michigan who
gave a very interesting Bible study
on the Beatitudes. Mrs. Marie
McIntosh introduced these speak-
ers and they were thanked by Mrs.
Mildred Yuill.
Mrs. Lorna Cook and Mrs. Olive
Bolt conducted the worship service,
consisting of hymns, scripture and
prayer. The meditation was entitled
"Compassion Burnout".
President Mrs. Wilma Higgins
conducted a business meeting. An
invitation was read from Calvin -
Brick UCW, to a special meeting on
Tune 21 at 8 p.m. Guest speaker will
'ae Carolyn Vincent from Survival
Through Friendship House,
Goderich. It was decided to sub-
scribe to 10 copies of Mandate for
another year. A change was made
in the date of one of the Blyth The-
atre suppers. Belgrave UCW will
now cater for these suppers on July
3 and July 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The treasurer's report was ,given
by Mrs. Donna Shaw, showing a
balance of $540. There will be a
Campsite Experience at Camp
Menesetung on June 12, to which
everyone is invited. The next meet-
ing of the UCW wiii be on Sept. 28,
when "eirefyone IS to bring an article
for Friendship House, Goderich.
