This . week we welcomed Donna
Johnston to the centre. She will be
doing a two --week placement here
as she plans to work with. the elder-
ly after taking a health care aide
course when she graduates from
high school here in Wingham.
We all have enjoyed having
Donna here over the past week and
will be sorry to see her go so soon.
Last Tuesday we loaded the bus
for an adventurous mystery tour°
Our destination was Goderich
where we took a stroll along the
boardwalk at St. Christopher's
Beach. We dined at Goderich before
touring the Huron County Pioneer
Museum. Everyone enjoyed look-
ing through the window of our
past.
We had afternoon tea and scones
at the museum and boarded the bus.
forthe return trip to Wingham.
Everyone enjoyed the day out°
To celebrate Victoria Day, we had
a birthday party last Wednesday.
We even had a special dress -up
model of the queen herself, fash-
ioned by our designer, Miss Gloria.
Last Thursday we had some
guests to the centre as it was "Bring
a'Friend Day". This is a , •. •: way.
for people to becorne more aware of
our program.
This week we are participating in
Canada's Fitness Week. We will be
joining thousands of seniors across
Canada to accumulate miles and
walk to the moon and back in the
OeElderobic Moonwalk"° So, if you
see us walking by, don't forget to
wave!
The centre will be closed June 7, 8
and 9 as our staff will be attending
a Toronto conference on those days.
Our next foot clinics are this
Thursday and June 21. Please call
the centre at 3574440 or 3574445
for an appointment.
The program calendars for the
month of June now are available.
As the weather remains warm,
here are a few tips before you go
out in the sun:
®remember to wear a hat;
—apply sunscreen before and re-
apply
apply after exercise and bathing;
—avoid strenuous exercise;
®remember to drink lots of flu-
ids.
Have a good summer!
