Donald Shaver Jr. and Dave Roberts of Shaver Poultry facilitat- ed the sale; to a large ranch near Bogota, the capital of Columbia. The ranch, Columbiana de Incub- cion Ltd., has repeatedly imported large numbers of Shaver. Poultry chicks from Cambridge, Ont. The ranch is located in the mountains west of Bogota. The owner of the ranch, Gabriel Camargo, visited Ontario and also bought some Jersey cattle in Ontario. They already have some Shaver beef blends in their program and want to expand with them. Dr. Valez toured Ontario during a snow storm in February. Cattle in Columbia will have to adjust to a much hotter climate. Dr. Valez insisted on cattle with good chest capacity so they could better adapt to the thin mountain air around Bogota.
