In other business, Kate Tervit
reported the plant and bake sale
held Saturday, May 13, in Corrie
was a sellout success, with net pro-
ceeds of $180. President Connie -
Fenton thanked all those who con-
tributed and helped the day of the
sale.
Plans are under way for a fashion
show and tea to be held this fall,
with six members volunteering to
form a committee. This event will
feature fashions from a number of
area businesses, shown to an audi-
ence seated comfortably, enjoying
tea or coffee and various delectable
goodies. More details will follow
from the planning committee which
consists of Darlene Harding, Helen
Smith, Connie Fenton, Linda Fox,
Ronnalee Johnson and Mary Hall.
The babysitting course will be
offered to students again this fall.
Registrations will be accepted until
the end of June. Read the Howick
Gazette for further information.
For the final meeting of the sea-
son, a barbecue and campfire will
be held at Darlene Harding's home
on Thursday, June 15, at 7 p.m.
Members are asked to bring uten-
sils, lawn chairs, marshmallow
sticks and musical instruments. The
evening promises to be a success,
featuring roasted'wienies, lively
music and the company of friends.

History meeting of the Women's
Institute, Mrs. Robert Gibson com-
piled an account on the history of
health services in the Gorrie area.
She told of the first doctor in Cor-
rie, a Dr. McMichael, and his many
successors, also of the dentists and
drug stores in the area.
Mrs. Margaret Taylor was hostess
for the May meeting and president
Mrs. Alvin Grainger opened it by
having all members repeat. the
Mary Stewart Collect. Secretary
treasurer, Mrs. William Thornton,
read the rn jiintes of the .April meet-
ing

buildings and tell what presently
stands on the sites. Everyone had a
chance to look at' the very interest-
ing Tweedsmuir History books
which liad been compiled over the
years.
A motion was made to donate
$25 to the Howick Fair Board.

Jim Snyder of Snyder Studio in Wingham re-
cently was presented with Kodak's award or rec-
ognition for excellence in the developing of color
prints. "The prints in Mr. Snyder's photo -finishing
lab are consistently of high quality", says Kodak
representative Peter Spnng, who presented the
award.
