CHAIR DONATED TO HOSPITAL—Huto4Chapter of the Eastern Star, Wmgham and Roy Ben-

asked.
When it was suggested- that the
April motion be rescinded and all
tenders be considered, Mr. Elliott
asked what was meant .by all ten-
ders. "As far as I'm concerned I
don't recall any mention of re -ten-
dering."
Turnberry representative Nelson
Underwood, however, suggested
that the board did, "to a certain
degree", know about the new fig-
ures.
Hesaid some members of the
board decided that if Superior
made its offer firm until the end of
May, "then, perhaps, it's a good
idea to go ahead and get some
other tenders."
Prefacing his remark with a plea
to not be quoted in the newspaper
"because we're not paying as
much", East Wawanosh representa-
tive Fred Meier urged the board to
"at least listen to" the fire chief.
"He's the guy who knows what
he's talking about."
Mr. Gaunt then: introduced the
four quotes, including those from
Superior and Hub. The others were
from C. E. Hickey Ltd. of Hamilton
at $198,185, and a quote of $160,398
from Amertech of Woodstock.
Included in the Hub quote, Mr.
Gaunt said, are conditions which
allow for payment of the truck to 1?e
made next year instead of in 1989.
"They're saying it will take five
to seven months to get a chassis
and then another 120 working days
before delivery here in Wingham. "
' By the calculations of Mr. Cox,
that makes an estimated delivery
date of May or June 1990. One, he
feels, his council could accept.
In the recorded vote, the only nay
