Several former Fordwich neigh-
bors of Edgar-Gedcke met at Cares -
sant Care Home, Listowel, on Tues-
day night to spend a social time
together and wish Edgar all the
best in his new home. He was pre-
sented with a lawn chair and a
book and thanked everyone for the
gifts and the visit. Lunch was
enjoyed by everyone,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robinson visit-
ed last weekend with friends at
Brighton.
Lorne Kelley visited Wednesday
with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kelley at
Elora.
Friends of Rae Louttit will be
pleased to know he was able to
return home last week from hospi-
tal and wish him a speedy return to
good health.
Members of 4-H clubs, the lead-
ers and parents from Fordwich and
Bluevale enjoyed a bus trip Satur-
day, April 29, to the Milton Muse-
um to attend a "Working With
Wool" Achievement demonstration
of spinning and weaving wool,
sheep herding and sheep shearing.
All reported a very interesting day.
Mark Brunarski underwent
surgery last week in Listowel
Memorial Hospital. He is wished a
speedy return to good hoalth.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
John Henry (Brenda Martin) who
were married Saturday, April 29, in
Fordwich United Church. Dinner
and reception followed in
Kurtzville Community Centre.

the weekend with his grandparents,
Bob and Marie Strong.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Pyke have
returned home after spending the
winter months at Brooksville, Flori-
da.
Mrs. Frances Lewis of Kitchener
visited Sunday with her mother,
Mrs. Ethel Dennis.
Mr. and Mrs. George Brown visit-
ed Mrs. Harry Goll of Brussels on
Sunday.
Mrs. John Coghlin, Ryan and Joel
of Atwood, visited recently with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Brown.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart. Aitken of
Kincardine, accompanied by Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Ferguson, returned
home Sunday after spending six
weeks at Osala, Florida.
Visitors at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. William Bennett were Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Bulmer, Billy Joe and
Adam of Bowmanville; Mr. and
Mrs. Roland Bennett, Pam, Cherie,
Janie and Susan of RR 4, Seaforth.

Crawford Gibson visited with his
father, Gordon Gibson, a couple of
days last week.
Mrs. Alvin Fulton, Exeter, spent
the weekend with her cousin, Mrs.
Dalton Dickison and Mr. Dickison.
Peter Isabelle and brother-in-law
of Mississauga visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Clement- ast Tues-
day. Mrs. Clement went to hospital
that day but -friends are pleased
that she returned horrfagain on

Women will meet Thursday night,
May 11, at 8:15 p.m. at the church
for the Thankoffering meeting. All
ladies in the surrounding area are
welcome. Mrs. J. W. Daunt will
speak and show slides of her recent
trip to the Philippines where she
was involved with the Rosa Pro-
gram.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood of
Ottawa *sited last weekend with
the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Glen Martin and with Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Walker and family in Listowel
and were guests at the Henry -Mar-
tin wedding. Barbara Thompson of
Aurora was also a weekend visitor
at the Martin home.
Mrs. Bernice Marriner moved her
household effects from Fordwich to
the home she purchased in Palmer-
ston. Friends here wish her all the
best in her new home.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Brunarski of
Simcoe spent last weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Brunarski and
family
Russel Nickel was a patient sev-
eral days last week in Listowel hos-
pital.
The sympathy of the community
goes to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Timperley
and family and Mr. and Mrs. Dick
Agla and family in the sudden
passing of their father and grandfa-
ther, Bruce Agla, on Monday, May
1.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Ruttan were Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Ross of London.
Friends in Fordwich and area
extend sympathy to Mr. and Mrs.
Lyle Murray in the death of the for-
mer's mother, Mrs. Mabel Murray,
on Sunday, April 30; and to Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Douglas and Neil Mur-
ray in the loss of a grandmother.
Mrs. Emerson Ferguson, Mrs.
Kelley Crowe, Mrs. J. W. Daunt,
Mrs. Alma Hargrave, Mrs. Brian
Doubleday and Mrs. William Soth-
ern attended the annual conference
of Anglican Church Women on Sat-
urday, April 29, in St Paul's Cathe-
dral, London. Mrs. Daunt was the
guest speaker and told of her recent
trip to the Philippines and her work
with the Rosa Program. ,
Mrs. Dorothy McElwain of
Grimsby visited several days last
week with Mrs. Annie Pittendreigh
and Minnie McElwain.
Mrs. Jean Clarkson and Mrs.
Pauline Richards attended a horti-
culture meeting and flower show in
St. Marys on Monday night. Mrs.
Richards also was the judge for the
flower show.

FORDWICH—The May meeting
of the senior citizens opened with a
poem from The Voice entitled
'Daffodils", which made the mem-
bers think of spring. After "0
Canada" was sung, birthday greet-
ings were extended to five mem-
bers. Roll call was answers to the
proposal, "You have just won
$500,000; what is the first thing you
would buy for yourself?" The
jority would buy a new car.
Memberswere reminded to pay
the dues to the USCO. It was decid-
ed not to enter the Moon Walk as a
competition. Anyone who desires
to do so during Fitness ' Week, can
keep track of the number of miles
they walk. An invitation to attend
Open House for a day's entertain -
Seniors enjoy poi -luck dinner
WROXETER—On a bright,
sunny May day, the members of the
village senior citizens gathered at
the hall for a delicious potluck din-
ner and meeting. After dinner, Mrs.
Mildred Coupland presided for the
meeting and read a poem entitled
"Growing Older". The minutes of
the last meeting were read by Mrs.
Eileen Hamilton.
Members were reminded of the
spring' Zone rally to be held at Blue -
vale on Friday, May 26, with regis-
tration to begin at 9:45 a.m. Lunch
will be served. Guest speaker will
be Bob Carbert who was curator of
the museum at Milton and also
farm broadcaster at CKNX some
years ago. All members of each
club are invited and a good atten-
dance is hoped for.
The group's final meeting of the
season will be held Wednesday,
June 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wingham
Golf and Curling Club. All mem-
bers are invited to share in this
social event.

date on the Zone rally to be held in
Bluevale on May 26, starting at 9:45
a.m. A good attendance is anticipat-
ed. It was suggested that the group
meet at the hall at 9:30.
The committee in charge of the
Homecoming Weekend, to be held
in Fordwich June 9, 10 and 11, has
asked the seniors to be responsible
for an old-tyme dance to be held in
Fordwich hall on Friday night, June
9, and to look after the picnic lu h
to be held in the ball park one
Sunday. The seniors agreed to do
this and committees were appoint-
ed to look after plans. Members
were brought up to date on what
the planning committee had
arranged.
The next card party will be Fri-
day, May 12, at 8:30 p.m., the next
meeting Wednesday, June 7, at 8.
Colin Maclntosh and his band fur-
nished old-tyme music for dancing
and listening pleasure and lunch
and a social hour were enjoyed.
