He got them from Jason McArthur's house. Miss Sanderson taught us what an amphibian is. It has a backbone and a double life on land and water. They lay eggs which have to stay moist. They have four legs that break through the skin during hatching. Amphibians are cold- blooded. They feel tickly, slimy and ,smooth. The salamander is about nine to 10 centimetres long. There are four different amphibians — newts, toads, salamanders and frogs. —Chris Maher Last Friday morning, the Kinder- garten A children presented a cir- cus for Grades 1 to 4. We had jug- glers, clowns, lions, acrobats, a bear and horses. Nathan led our circus parade into the gym. Thank you to Miss Sanderson, who was our ringmas- ter. This was a great ending to our circus unit. —Mrs. Underwood JUNIOR REPORT Edited by Jennifer Howitt We have successfully completed our play. It was entitled "Princess Priscilla and the Peasants". It was held on April 25 in the gym. Many parents attended both perfor- mances. —Jennifer Fenton Constable Marshall recently pre- sented the Grade 6s in the VIP pro- gram with their certificates. They also did plays about such things as shoplifting and drugs. —Mary Feldskov We are coming to the end of a unit called "Food for Thought". It has been very full-"fill"ing. Three people in the class,4ason Hein - miller, Rachel Jacques and Rachel King, will be visiting an author, as Author's Day is May 2. We've been arranging our desks in groups to make more room in our classroom. Mr. Maertens attended a computer conference in Toronto last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We hope he brings lots of new ideas back for us to use in the computer room. —Tyler Gallaher INTERMEDIATE REPORT Edited by Mary Feldskov The Grade 8 class is working hard to complete their empathy writing. Mr. Raynard is reading the first chapter of a series of books to help us decide which of the four books we would like to read. We are finishing a spelling unit. In math, we are having a court case on the trial of Louis Riel. —Angela White Mr. Doubleday's class is pleased to see Mr. Doubleday back at school after hisprolonged illness. He is spending half a day at school, while Mrs. Greig comes in for the after- noon.
