PRIMARY REPORT
Edited by Darren Roth
and Ryan Gallaher
Kent Jillings brought in six sala-
manders. He got them from Jason
McArthur's house. Miss Sanderson
taught us what an amphibian is. It
has a backbone and a double life on
land and water.
They lay eggs which have to stay
moist. They have four legs that
break through the skin during
hatching. Amphibians are cold-
blooded. They feel tickly, slimy and
,smooth. The salamander is about
nine to 10 centimetres long. There
are four different amphibians —
newts, toads, salamanders and
frogs.

Last Friday morning, the Kinder-
garten A children presented a cir-
cus for Grades 1 to 4. We had jug-
glers, clowns, lions, acrobats, a bear
and horses.
Nathan led our circus parade into
the gym. Thank you to Miss
Sanderson, who was our ringmas-
ter. This was a great ending to our
circus unit.

We are coming to the end of a
unit called "Food for Thought". It
has been very full-"fill"ing. Three
people in the class,4ason Hein -
miller, Rachel Jacques and Rachel
King, will be visiting an author, as
Author's Day is May 2.
We've been arranging our desks
in groups to make more room in
our classroom. Mr. Maertens
attended a computer conference in
Toronto last Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday. We hope he brings lots
of new ideas back for us to use in
the computer room.
