As wanner weather arrives, they will have some out- door experiences. They are begin- ning to make alphabet books. —Kelly Kerr The theme for April is ‘sanimAsii, The students are learning about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish. They made different kinds of animals from paper loops and call them 'Loopy Creatures". They are learning to tell time with paper plate clocks they made by themselves. They are looking forward to a spring walk with their reading buddies. —Shari Mundell Mrs. Overholt's crass had a deli- cious lunch of hot dogs and beans. This week they are havine sloppy joes. They talked about and made pussywillows. Bradley was this week's high bowler. --Angela Swanson Mr. Salcasov's class is going to have a writing test. They are also studying microscopes and are going on a field trip to a fish hatc-if- ery at Owen Sound. _ Rob Metcalfe The Grade 4-5s had a very suc- cessful spring concert. This concert raised over $350. Wingham Public School would like to thank Wing - ham for support of the Colleen Robertson Memorial Fund and Don Young Fire Fund. Mr. Young is the school board attendance counsellor. This week at our school we had a favorite T-shirt and jeans day. Mrs. Elgie and Miss McKinnon helped us. . r 4 Editor Kerry Hill PRIMARY The Grade 1 class really enjoy its trip to the hospital. Some of th interesting departments they visi ed were the laboratoiy, emerge physiotherapy and x-ray. They also had the school inurs come and talk to them about wher to find a nurse. All in all, it was very busy week. The Grade 1-2 class has just fin ished up its unit on trains, which they really enjoyed. The Grade 3 class just finished writing to their penpals from How - ick, In math, they have completed their five-timeslable. — Dana Mathers INTERMEDIATES The Grade 7 pupils. in Grade 6-7 had a basic skills test last week. The Grade 7-8 lass has been working with angles in math. Colin Darling (Grade 7) and Tom Hawkins (Grade 8) represented TurnberryCentral at the regional science air at Clinton last Friday and Saturday. --Jane Darling GENERAL NEWS Several of our students enjoyed a musical performance in the gymna- sium by the Befrdo Brothers. The Grade 8s have had their graduation pictures taken. Now they must work hard and make sure that they graduate. Have you done your spring cleaning yet? And Wednesday, May 3, is our annual Generation Day — a chance for everyone in the community to stop by in the morning and see public education in action. There will be a special program in the gym at 11 a.m., followed by a tree -planting ceremony. That wraps up the news thilE week.
