I was certain that spring was here
to stay. Hopefully, this will be our
final bout with the not -so -fluffy
white stuff. Everyone at the day
centre is ready for some beautiful
sunny weather. -
Last week, both men and women
took part in tying a few knots in the
quilt that was 'donated by, Lillian
Young of Teeswater. We are all
waiting to see the final product.
This week, we thought we would
take, it easy and watch an old
favorite at the movies in the -after-
• noon. Popcorn will be served. The
movie hasn't been selected as of the
moment, but •there have been
requests for comedy, musicals and
westerns.
Maybe we can find a film that
contains all of the above. We are
• looking for a funny, old movie con-
taining singing cowboys.
April 20, this Thursday, is the day
set aside for our 10th anniversary
open house, starting at 1 p.m. Our
special guest _speaker will be Dr.
Anne Martin -Matthews, the direc-
tor of the gerontology research at
the University of Guelph.
Dr. Martin -Matthews was
involved in the initial survey which
indicated the need for a social and
recreational centre for seniors in the
• Wingham area.
She also put together a videotape
entitled "Aging in a Rural Environ-
ment" that focuses on clients and
volunteers at the day centre. This
videotape will be available for
viewing. Everyone is welcome to
attend the festivities.
Senibrs who Usually attend the
Thursday program are invited to
attend on Tuesday or Wednesday in
order to get in a full day.
Our next footiclinks are sched-
uled for April 26 and May 3 from 1

• During the last week of April, we
are planning to do some serious
work in our craft program. Any • -
craft ideas would be greatly appre4.

ciated. •
Please accept this bit of advice. It •
is important to remain active in
your older years to be truly health
physically, mentally and emo-
tionally. It is the key to true happi-
ness.

you can't see the view." From
book entitled Apples of Gold.
