president of Institute
Whitechurch—Mrs. Gordon Wall
was elected president of the
Women's Institute, succeeding Mrs.
Helen Currie. The new officers
were installed by Mrs. Rena Fisher,
at the annual meeting held Wednes-
day, April 12, at 12 noon in the
community hall.
Other officers are: vice-president,
Mrs. Jean Tiffin; secretary -treasurer,
Mrs. Agnes Farrier; assistant secre-
tary, Mrs. Jean McGuire; public

meeting _theme
Whitechurch—The United
Church Women met recently at the
home of Mrs. Pauline Adams. The
topic was ''Stewardship and
Finance" and leaders were Rev. and
Mrs. John Neilson and Mrs. Adams.
Mr. Neilson ve the call to wor-
ship and led in prayer. Scripture
passages were read by Mrs. Adams
and the Neilsons. They also read
letters from missionaries in China,
Jamaica, Angola and Malawi,
telling of the work in each 'coun-
try. Ten answered the' roll call by
naming a hymn containing the
%voids, 'dme" or "talent'.
The offering and Least Coin were
received and Mrs. Neilson gave the
offertory prayer. Following the
busitteis, Mrs. Farrier closed the
meeting with prayer. Mr. Neilson
said Cisme and Mrs. Acarus served
lunch.

they will manufacture tilt -and -turn
vinyl windows and roll shutters
custom-made.

hosts meeting
GORRIE—Mrs. James Robinson
was hostess for the April meeting
of the Women's Missionary Society
of Knox Presbyterian Church. She
opened the meeting with the poem,
"Each Life Is a Candle" and all
joined in singing a psalm.
Mrs. Glenn Underwood read a
conversation between Peter and
Jesus as recorded in the 22nd chap-
ter of St. Luke's Gospel. Mrs. Alvin
Mundell then gave a meditation .on
Peter's faith, written by Miss Clara
Henderson who is presently work-
ing with the CCAP in Malawi. Mrs.
Robinson, Mrs. Gordon Moir and
Mrs. David Lockie gave sentence
prayers and a hymn was sung.
Members were encouraged to
,attend the May Presbyterial to be
held in Ripley.on May 8. Mrs.
Underwood and Mrs. Mundell
shared some anecdotes about South
Africa told by Rev. Jock Tolmay at
Molesworth on Tuesday night.
Mrs. Moir presented the study of
Job and his three friends in the
form of a drama entitled "In Whose
Court Shall Judgment Be Passed?",
Mrs. Moir was Job, Mrs. Mundell
was Miphaz, Mrs. L/ndervvood, Bil-
dad and Mrs. Robinson, Zophar.
After discussion, Mrs. Moir also
shared an interview with Rev. Wal-
lace Little following his six-week
stay in Malawi.

1895, with Mayor Brockenshire in
the chair. Mr. Pew, the promoter of
art electric road from Port Perry to
Kincardine, with branches from
Walkerton to Meaford and Owen
